Just a few weeks before welcoming their fourth child, Thomas Rhett is sharing an update on his wife Lauren Akins’ pregnancy.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Georgia native and current CMA Male Vocalist of the Year nominee gave an update on how his wife is doing and even teased fans with what they could be naming their fourth daughter.
“She’s okay. Lauren has, her pregnancies every time, like, she’s just nauseous a lot, but she’s such a trooper and such a fighter and such a champion,” he gushed. “And we’re just getting really close to the point of like ‘I just wish we could have it today.’ So, I guess six more weeks, and we’ll be ready to rock.”
As noted in several TikTok videos shared by Rhett over the course of the last few weeks, the couple of nearly 9-years are having some trouble picking out and brainstorming a name for their fourth child, however, the “Country Again” singer says that there are a few that they both like. And one that is the singer/songwriter’s first choice.
“This has been hard, just because you put so much thought in the first one, and second one and the third, and you’re like, ‘Well we have to spend a lot of time on this one as well,” Rhett shared. “And so we’ve gone back and forth and thinking about state names, thinking about flower names, thinking about places that we love, could that resonate into a name? So we’ve landed on a couple.”
The country hitmaker added, “Georgia is my first choice, I love the name Georgia for a girl.” (maybe he really wants to name his fourth daughter after his home state?)

Rhett first revealed the exciting news that he and his wife are expecting another girl on Saturday, May 8, during his Billy Bob’s concert in Fort Worth, Texas. Following his performance, the “What’s My Country Song” singer took to Instagram to announce the news.
“Well… we are pregnant again,” Rhett captioned a photo of him holding his wife’s belly. “Tonight when I was on stage in Fort Worth about to play ‘to the guys that date my girls’ my wife talked to me in my (ear monitors) and said ‘you can tell them if you want’ so anyways, now you know.”
Rhett continued, “we are pumped to be having our 4th girl??? feel free to buy all the merch you want, knowing that all the proceeds are going straight to all these weddings I’ll be paying for one day,” he joked. Love you so much @laur_akins we always wanted a big thanksgiving table.?”
Rhett recently opened up to PEOPLE sharing that he and his wife hope to have more children as they always wanted five kids.
“My wife has wanted five kids for forever,” Rhett explained, “so I’m sure we’re gonna have at least that many.” Later adding, “I would love a son, But at the same time, I’m so used to embracing this ‘girl dad’ life that I don’t really know what I would do with a boy, to be honest with you!”
The couple’s soon-to-arrive new bundle of joy, expected in November 2021, will join older sisters Willa Gray, 5, Ada James, 4, and Lennon Love, 19 months.
Rhett recently celebrated his 17th No. 1 hit with “What’s Your Country Song” and his second from his latest album, Country Again: Side A.
The superstar’s headlining trek, dubbed the Center Point Road tour, wraps up on October 9 in Raleigh, North Carolina at Coastal Credit Union Music Park At Walnut Creek.
Additionally, the soon-to-be mom and dad of four will celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary later this month and ahead of the big celebration, the country singer teased an unreleased new song that honors his wife during a recent concert.
