On Saturday (Jan. 9), Josh Abbott band performed at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth, TX and fans were surprised with an appearance from legendary country artist Randy Travis, who attended the concert and joined Abbott onstage to be serenaded by Abbott and the crowd with his classic 1987 hit, “Forever And Ever, Amen.”

In the video clip, you can see Abbott serenading Travis with his iconic hit song while Travis donned a massive smile on his face and cheered him on from center stage. Watch Travis be serenaded by Abbott and the crowd below.

“Forever And Ever, Amen” appears on Travis’ 1987 album, Forever & Always. The song earned Travis his third No. 1 single on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles charts and also a Grammy for Best Country & Western Song at the 30th Annual Grammy Awards in 1988. The hit song also nabbed 2 ACM Awards, 2 CMA Awards and 2 American Music Awards.

Travis recently returned to the vocal booth for the first time since 2013 to sing the final “Amen” of Josh Turner’s cover of the popular song. The song featuring Travis is the first time that the country icon has been in the studio since suffering a stroke in 2013.
