The Chicks have been forced to reschedule three concerts after singer Natalie Maines was placed on vocal rest.

The award-winning trio shared the unfortunate news with fans via Instagram on Monday, June 20, just one day after their Noblesville, Indiana concert abruptly ended when Maines lost her voice.

Read The Chicks’ statement below:

“As a result of strict doctor’s orders for vocal rest, The Chicks are forced to postpone the following shows:

Noblesville, IN
Cincinnati, OH
Clarkston, MI.

These shows have been rescheduled to:

9/28 Clarkston, MI – Pine Knob Music Theatre
9/30 Noblesville, IN – Ruoff Music Center
10/2 Cincinnati, OH – Riverbend Music Center

Patty Griffin will still support each show.

Tickets for the original date will be honored for the rescheduled performances.

There are no changes to additional dates at this time.

The Chicks apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you all at the new dates.

For further information contact your point of purchase. The Chicks.”

The Chicks began their performance on Sunday and after several songs, Maines told the crowd, “We’ll try one more song. Waiting for this shot to kick in. Not a shot of alcohol! Steroids. I’m so sorry. I just can’t pull it off.”

According to Fox59, Maines told the audience that her allergies were acting up earlier in the show. She hoped that the steroid shot would help, however, it appears it did not.

Fans reportedly exited the show blaring The Chicks’ music from their cars. Several concertgoers shared their well-wishes with Maines following the show.

Following the sudden ending to the Noblesville concert, The Chicks, who remain the biggest-selling U.S. female band of all time, took to social media to share a statement regarding the abrupt cancellation.

“Indianapolis, we are so sorry we could not give you the show you deserved OR the show we wanted to give you. We will be back Indianapolis!!” the trio, composed of Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire and Emily Strayer, wrote.

Maines, Maguire and Strayer promised fans that they’ll be back to give them the show that they deserve and they are fulfilling their promise with the newly rescheduled dates.

”Hold onto your tickets. Ticket holders will be contacted by the official point of purchase with further information. We love you Indianapolis, The Chicks.”

Patty Griffin and Jenny Lewis join The Chicks on select dates of the trek, which kicked off on June 14 in St. Louis, MO. The trek wraps up on Saturday, August 13 at The Gorge Amphitheatre.

The tour is set to resume on Friday, June 24 in Toronto, Canada at The Budweiser Stage.
