The buzzed-about singer/songwriter, who is one of Country music’s hottest and fastest rising acts, dropped the new song on Friday, April 12, just over a month before his new album is unleashed to the world. Since the track’s debut, it has quickly amassed well over 5 million streams across all streaming platforms.

Written solely by Shaboozey, “A Bar Song (Tipsy) flawlessly blends the hip-hop and R&B with Country for an upbeat, distinctive sound that is signature to Shaboozey. Shaboozey reimagined J-Kwon’s iconic hit, “Tipsy,” into a catchy fiddle-infused country song that will quickly become the soundtrack to massive singalongs at Lower Broadway honky-tonks in Nashville.

“One, here comes the two, to the three, to the four/ Tell ’em “Bring another round”, we need plenty more/ Two steppin’ on the table, she don’t need a dance floor/ Oh my, good Lord/ Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey/ They know me and Jack Daniel’s got a history/ Therе’s a party downtown, near 5th Street/ Everybody at the bar gеttin’ tipsy,” Shaboozey sings on the tune’s chorus.

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” Flawlessly Blends Genres

Not only does the tune showcase Shaboozey’s unique sound, but it also displays his commitment to the Country music genre, as he infuses his smooth vocals with an upbeat clap tempo accompanied by a lively crowd-filled backup vocal and fiddle embellishments as well as a rustic acoustic guitar.

“Early 2000s Hip-Hop and R&B were such a huge part of my childhood and I had been wanting to flip one for a while into a country song, so we did it with ‘Tipsy.’ I love how it turned out because it’s a true blend of genres I love,” he explained of the track that was produced by Nevin and Sean Cook. “It’s a song that I wanted people to hear and just wanna have fun and party!”

The track dropped with an equalizer clip that feature Shaboozey and a few others, dressed in Country ensembles, singing the song in front of a Saloon.

New Album: Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going

“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” follows the release of Shaboozey’s critically acclaimed single “Let it Burn,” the haunting heartbreak track “Anabelle,” and most recently, “Vegas,” an anthemic tune straight from the wild west. All four of the aforementioned tracks are set to appear on Shaboozey’s highly-anticipated forthcoming new album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going will arrive on May 31, 2024, via EMPIRE.

The 28-year-old Virginia native, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, will soon take his tunes on the road for a limited run of shows with stops in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles. The concerts will feature a set list that includes his latest releases as well as unreleased songs from his upcoming new album. Tickets are available now at https://americandogwood.com.
