Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi McCreery are preparing to welcome their first child later this year and over the weekend Gabi celebrated her soon-to-be born baby boy with family and friends during a Winnie The Pooh-themed baby shower.
“The dreamiest baby shower for baby boy 🥹💙,” Gabi captioned a series of photos from the event, which took place on Saturday, August 20.
The series of photos begins with Gabi, wearing a white dress, sitting beside a handcrafted, wooden sign that read McCreery’s Hundred Acre Wood, which is the same sign that appears in the Pooh book/movie and is a reference to the fictional land inhabited by Pooh in the Disney classic.
Gabi’s Instagram post also features photos of herself posed with family and friends surrounded by Winnie The Pooh-theme decorations such as a tree stump, the Hundred Acre Wood sign, Pooh imagery, photos of Gabi and McCreery as well as green, yellow and brown balloons.
“So so thankful for the sweetest family and friends, little Beignet and I felt all the love yesterday 💛 here’s to hoping he loves Pooh as much as I do, 😋” Gabi concluded her post.
While McCreery wasn’t in attendance at the baby shower as he is currently on the road, he did take to social media to repost the photos from the shower.
“Baby shower time for Gabi,” McCreery captioned the Facebook post, which showcased the baby shower photos with a heart-eyed emoji over the top of the images.
Scotty McCreery First Revealed He Was Expecting His First Child In June of 2021
McCreery and his wife Gabi first revealed they are expecting their first child in late June of 2021.
The “Damn Strait” singer revealed the news exclusively with PEOPLE on Tuesday, June 21, unveiling that their new addition will be arriving this fall, in November.
He also revealed their baby’s gender with the outlet. “We got a little man on the way,” the North Carolina native said with a smile.
“I was the only boy on both sides of my family, the last McCreery boy out there,” McCreery told the outlet. “Gabi’s from two sisters in her family, so I just figured it would be a girl. But we got a surprise of a boy.”
The country hitmaker is “super excited” to meet his baby boy and is looking forward to introducing his son to sports and all the precious father/son moments that they will share together.
“I grew up playing sports, so getting to introduce him to baseball, which was my first love right there with music, and golf are just little things that [will be great],” McCreery said.
McCreery also told PEOPLE at the time that he and Gabi have “always talked about” having children together.
“We always knew we wanted kids, but we always knew we wanted the first few years to travel and have time on the road, to see things and experience life,” he shared. “We’ve gotten to live a lot of life and do some cool things, so it seems like now’s a good time to settle down a little and expand the family.”
Scotty and Gabi, who reside in North Carolina, have known each other since Kindergarten. The couple’s love story is straight out of a fairy tale as Gabi used to doodle hearts and “Mrs. Gabi McCreery” in her diary.
The couple wed in June of 2018 and added their dog Moose to their family in early 2019.
“The best day of my life was June 16, 2018, the day me and my wife got married,” McCreery recently told Skip Clark on the Skip Happens podcast. “We dated for years since 2012, so I knew for a longtime she was the one. That was just an incredible day.”
McCreery will soon take the stage at ACM Party For A Cause Benefitting ACM Lifting Lives on Tuesday (Aug. 23) at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, Tennessee.
