Scotty McCreery was surprised with a Gold-certified plaque for his third consecutive No. 1 single “In Between” on Friday, September 4 during an interview with HLN’s Morning Express.

The country superstar also returned for his first live concert since the pandemic shut the world down, with a special show branded as ‘Live At The Ryman.’ The show was the first that allowed a limited in-person audience, which quickly sold out, but fans across the globe were tuned in as the entire concert was live-streamed.

“It was a fun surprise to receive a gold plaque for ‘In Between’ during ‘Morning Express,’” shares McCreery. “The fans are the reason why the song was certified gold, so I wanted to share the moment with them again on my livestream Q&A moderated by my friend Bill Cody.”

The “In Between” singer revealed that new music is on the way last week with the announcement of a new single inspired by his wife Gabi called “You Time” from an upcoming album. McCreery surprised fans with the debut live performance of the new song during his Ryman concert. The song is set for release on September 23.

“Performing at the Ryman is always an honor,” says McCreery. “Giving my debut performance of ‘You Time’ on that stage is something I’ll always treasure.”

“You Time” was co-written by McCreery alongside Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis, produced by Rogers, Eshuis and Derek Wells, who also produced his album, Seasons Change.

“In Between” follows his RIAA Platinum-Certified hit, “This Is It” and Double-Platinum Certified song, “Five More Minutes.”
