Reba McEntire threw an unforgettable show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Calif., as part of her ongoing Reba: Live In Concert on Saturday (April 1). But it wasn’t without a few of her close cohorts.
The country superstar was surprised by a handful of her former cast mates from her once-popular sitcom, Reba, which ran for six seasons from 2011 to 2007 and premiered on the WB before airing on the CW.
Reba co-stars JoAnna García Swisher, Steve Howey, and Melissa Peterman planned a reunion of sorts for the former co-workers, with Peterman taking to social media to document the entire evening.
McEntire’s Reba Cast Mates Brought A Reba Cardboard Cutout
A clip shared to Peterman’s Instagram shows Swisher lugging around a giant-sized cardboard cut out of McEntire’s face.
“Reba and I are leaving. We’ll be at the bowl,” Swisher says in the clip, which includes the caption: “See you at the @hollywoodbowl! @jogarciaswisher @reba.”
Another post shows Swisher, Peterman, and Howey posing for a selfie together in anticipation of their night’s surprise.
“Mrs. H is at the Hollywood Bowl tonight!!! @stevehowey @jogarciaswisher @reba @hollywoodbowl,” the caption reads alongside the post.
“We NEED a REBA reboot!!!!” The trio of friends writes, alongside a video featuring McEntire performing “The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.”
Peterman also shared a photo of the trio with their arms around each other during McEntire’s headlining Hollywood Bowl performance.
Teased A Reba Reboot
Speaking of a reboot, the legendary country singer, 68, has previously pushed for another season of the show, telling Bobby Bones of The Bobby Bones Show, “We’ve really been trying to do a reboot of the Reba show. I really want to work with the people I got to work with during that six-and-a-half years.”
Thus far, there is no indication that another Reba season is in the works, despite the fact that the popular sitcom, which had McEntire playing the role of Reba Hart, has been nominated for a Golden Globe and two Primetime Emmys. However, McEntire and Peterman have shared the screen, in recent days, reuniting for Reba McEntire’s The Hammer, a movie inspired by the real-life story of traveling circuit judge Kim Wanker.
In the film, which aired on Lifetime, McEntire plays the role of Kim Wheeler, and Peterman plays her sister, Kris, a local brothel owner who becomes a prime suspect in the murder of Kim’s predecessor.
Reunited
Of course, McEntire’s night at the Hollywood Bowl didn’t end without a much necessary photo opp with her friends. The on-screen family of four gathered together for a photo before going their separate ways. The picture, uploaded on social media, caused a stir with fans, who couldn’t help but share their wishes for another McEntire reboot.
“I just love this!! This makes me so happy! When’s the reboot?!” One person wrote, with another person adding, “I watch reruns every day. Please, let’s have a reboot!!”
One day after the show, Melissa Peterman took to her Facebook page to share additional photos from her night out supporting her longtime friend.
“About last night. It was magic. Seeing Reba at The Hollywood Bowl was spectacular. Seeing Reba surrounded by friends, family, and the friends that are my family was overwhelming and full of feels,” Peterman captioned via Facebook of their magical evening. “I have seen Reba perform too many times to count, and after every show, I say that was my favorite! But, last night was really something special. Bravo to the entire team! The Isaacs were fabulous. Their Harmonies are gorgeous. And, as always Terri Clark brought it!!! Still smiling.”
