RaeLynn and her husband, Josh Davis, are one of the sweetest couples in country music. She is a touring country artist while he is an ex-minor league baseball player turned military spouse.

Engaged In October 2015

The pair met in 2012 while at church and got engaged in October of 2015 after Davis conjured up an adorable proposal, which included a surprise scavenger hunt.

“He told me we were going on a business dinner with him and his boss. He told me to get super dressed up and wear something I like,” RaeLynn previously shared of the clever surprise proposal with The Boot. “…should have taken that as a clue, but I didn’t because I’m blond.

“I went downstairs, and he had ‘clue one’ waiting there [and] I walked outside to find that my best friend was sitting in the front seat of my car, and she was like, ‘Get in. We’re going on a scavenger hunt,’” RaeLynn added. “And then I started crying because I knew what was about to happen… It was so sweet. Josh is my best friend. He makes me better. He’s so supportive.”

RaeLynn and her friend continued through the hunt, making it to the finish line, in which Davis presented the “What’s Wrong With That?” singer with an engagement ring at Belmont University. While popping the question, the pair also shared their first kiss.

Married In February of 2016

After RaeLynn said “yes,” the couple married on Feb. 27, 2016, on a private farm in Franklin, Tenn., among 300 guests, which included pop superstar Gwen Stefani and fellow country star and her former The Voice coach Blake Shelton.

Since saying their “I Do’s” the husband and wife have gone on to welcome their first child, a daughter named Daisy, who was born on Sept. 8, 2021, weighing 7 Pounds 7 ounces. Now that they’ve experienced wedded bliss and life as first-time parents, Music Mayhem caught up with RaeLynn to find out her secret to a happy and long-lasting marriage.

“Well, there are a lot of things I’d say. I would say the secret to a lasting relationship is listening to each other and respecting each other,” RaeLynn shared. “Marriage is not easy, and I think that people think the world has made it seem like if it doesn’t feel like butterflies and fairies the whole time that it’s not worth it, or they aren’t the right one. It’s about sticking it out. I’m not saying that you have to stick things out if things are really bad, like an abusive relationship or things like that, but as for the normal wear and tear, we’re all human.”

Deeply In Love And Put Their Faith First

RaeLynn went on to say that while she and Davis are deeply in love, they make sure to put their faith first.

“My relationship with God is more important than anything, and then it’s me and Josh,” she says. “But, the biggest thing I’ve learned is to, because Josh is my husband, God gives him the strength to understand things that we as women can’t understand.”

The 29-year-old Texan also adds that she’s been in her marriage long enough to give her closest friends advice before they walk down the aisle to marry the love of their life.

“Anytime my friends are getting married, I’m like, ‘Just listen to each other and respect each other,’ you might get mad sometimes, but at the end of the day, if you’re wrong or he’s wrong, or you’re right, or he’s right, you’re always going to feel better about respecting the person and what they’ve said,” she shared. “I really value my marriage, and I value the relationship that God gave me with Josh.”

Have One Daughter, Daisy

Along with maintaining a healthy and loving marriage, RaeLynn and Davis make sure to set an example for Daisy, so she, too, can have good judgment as she gets older.

“We’re Daisy’s example of love, marriage, and Christ in a big way. That’s going to be the way she sees love and receives love when she is looking for a partner in life,” RaeLynn says before adding, “Always keep it fun. Josh, literally, is my best friend. I never thought I’d say I am more in love with him today than when I first met him, but I am. We just keep that fun relationship, and I think that’s a big key too!”
