Breakout country star Priscilla Block will soon add a check to her bucket list when she meets one of her biggest inspiration.
The fast-rising country singer and 2022 ACM New Female Artist of the Year nominee recently opened up about her love for superstar, Kelly Clarkson, during an interview with Taste Of Country Nights‘ Evan Paul.
While chatting with the outlet, the “Just About Over You” singer shared that she has several inspirations that she would love to meet one day. However, since she rose to fame in the midst of a global health crisis, she has not yet been able to meet the people who she’s “looked up to for a long time.”
Block said she knows that “one day it’s gonna happen,” and when it does, she admits that there will be “no chill” and that she’s “just gonna freak out and pass out and be the total fan girl.”
Among the list of stars who Block says she looks up to and would love to meet are Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Luke Combs and one of her biggest influences, Clarkson.
“I love Kelly Clarkson,” Block explained. “I remember watching her back on [American] Idol. I just think she’s awesome.”
“I am going to meet Kelly Clarkson,” Block proclaimed, manifesting a meet and greet.
And when she does meet Clarkson, Block said she is “going to tell her that she changed my life with ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’ and ‘A Moment Like This.’ I’m going to see her and be like, ‘I have been dreaming for a moment like this!’”
During the interview, Paul even compared Clarkson’s chart-topping hit, “Since You Been Gone,” with a track on Block’s debut album, “Ever Since You Left,” which put a big smile on her face.
It seems the North Carolina native will get her wish to meet Clarkson sooner than she thought as Block will fulfill her dream of meeting Clarkson on Thursday (Feb. 17) as she will be appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show to chat about her just-released debut album, Welcome To The Block Party, and give a special performance of her latest single, “My Bar.”
“Going to be on the @kellyclarksonshow Thursday!!! Set your reminders!!” Block shared within excitement on Instagram. “Anyone who knows me knows I love @kellyclarkson, so I am so excited/nervous/everything! See y’all Thursday.”
Additionally, Block recently announced her first-ever headlining tour, dubbed The Welcome To The Block Party Tour.
The trek kicked off last week in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will make stops in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Illinois, and North Carolina before wrapping up in Dallas, Texas on April 23 at Ferris Wheelers Backyard & BBQ.
“Well holy cow y’all…. My first headlining tour… is this real life? I cannot wait for you to hear this album live and for you to experience the Block Party in person,” Block shared in a press release. “Not long ago, I was quarantining and posting my songs on social media, hoping that the day would come where I could sing songs again in person… and here we are with a whole tour!”
