Following the release of their 2016 album, MisadventuresPierce The Veil have been rather quiet except for one livestream event that they hosted in 2020. Now, fans are wondering if they have new music down the pipeline as they miss their energy-filled sound.

The group have been quiet for quite some time, however, their frontman Vic Fuentes has stayed in contact with fans and the media through social media and other forms of communication.

And while it does seem like an eternity since we’ve had new music from Pierce The Veil, it seems new music is on the way, as in August 2021, Fuentes told Forbes in an interview that the band was returning to the studio to work on some new tunes in September 2021.

“We’re getting ready to go into the studio next month, and we’re gonna record this thing,” Fuentes shared with Forbes. “I was just making songs so aimlessly for so long, I didn’t know what the f**k I was doing. I was just like, ‘I’m just writing, I guess, just to write, and we’ll see where this goes. There’s just no future insight of what the hell life is gonna be with COVID.’ But it was cool to finally lock in dates and tours, and we have real goals now, so I can actually focus on finishing stuff.”

He further confirmed new music is in the works when he responded to a fan in Instagram comments who asked for an update.

“We’re currently working on a new album and hoping to start touring again next year!” Fuentes said in the comments, which obviously due to the current state of the world and the ongoing pandemic, tour was unable to happen.

It’s unclear when the group will be releasing their new music, but it’s safe to say they are in fact working on album five and have been sharing little teasers as they do so.

Fuentes and bandmates Tony Perry and Jaime Preciado revealed that they began to record the new project on October 20, 2021, “We are recording our fifth album with producer @paulmeany in New Orleans, Louisiana 💚”

According to a post, shared by the band on November 12, 2021, the group finished recording most of the drums and all the bass for the new album, which appears to be a 12-track project.

On December 1, 2021, the band shared a photo working on the new album in a New Orleans, Louisiana based studio, which they captioned “Album #5” alongside a green heart emoji.

Just two days later, Pierce The Veil shared a photo of Fuentes in a vocal booth in the same studio recording, “Lots of screaming today 😱”

While the popular group will return with new music, it will be minus a member, as their drummer Mike Fuentes departed the band back in 2017 due to some allegations made against him.

In the meantime, it seems they are working with Mutemath singer Paul Meany as their studio drummer for the next project, as Meany shared a few pictures playing a massive drum kit, which the band commented on saying, “Sounding sooo dope!! 🔥🔥🔥”

Meany will also serve as the Producer for the next project.

In October 2021, Meany revealed that he moved his studio equipment into a house in New Orleans, Louisiana with the guys in Pierce The Veil to work on the album.

“Calm before the storm. Just moved my studio into a beautiful house in New Orleans with @piercetheveil to begin work on their new album,” Meany shared. “We’re fielding fire in these speakers and catching moments of sound and feels I’m looking forward to help sculpt for your speakers. Soooo stoked to be a part of this project!”

The band and producer also shared other photos throughout their time producing the new album, which you can see below.

Pierce The Veil are currently in the works of finishing up their new album, which will serve as the follow up to their 2016 album, Misadventures

It seems like fans won’t have to wait much longer for new music as they have officially begun to tease the new era with new photos on social media.
