Singer/songwriter, actress and activist Paris Jackson draws inspiration from Interpol, Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Andy Hull and Conor Oberst in her newest 90’s grunge and alternative influenced track, “bandaid.” Released on Feb. 24 via Republic Records, fans can stream “bandaid” now HERE.

The spirited anthem comes on the heels of her critically acclaimed singles “just you” and “lighthouse,” shared in 2022. Paris debuted “bandaid” for the first time live last fall with a stripped, acoustic performance on SPIN.

“You know I’ve spent a good few years, just thinking/ Drinking about you/ My head is filled with souvenirs, I’m limping/ Beginning to undo/ The pieces of me/ Strung together, free, the new me,” sings Paris in the new release.

Paris Jackson also opened up about the new song.

“This is the type of music I used to dream of making myself when I was 14 discovering Nirvana and Pixies for the first time. Lyrically it’s the most raw and vulnerable I’ve ever been in any of my songs. It’s the first track I’ve truly let loose and yelled on in the studio, which you can hear in the third chorus, and I feel like that’s why it had to be the title track for my next record.”

She continued, “I’m grateful to have also started producing, and Simon Oscroft has been the perfect partner to do that with after having learned everything I know from Andy and Rob in the studio previously. I’m also deeply honored by my good friend Anthony Salazar who, when I said, ‘hit those drums harder than tommy lee on wild side,’ did just that. I hope there are people out there that get from it what I got from albums like I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning by Bright Eyes, a record that truly made me feel heard and understood from the inside out.”

The Silversun Pickups’ Physical Thrills Tour

Paris recently wrapped up her time on The Silversun Pickups’ Physical Thrills Tour across North America. The trek kicked off on Feb. 17 at Birmingham, AL’s Iron City and hit major cities including Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, New Orleans, Dallas and more before coming to a close on March 9 at Austin, TX’s Emo’s.

The “scorpio rising” singer also has tours with The Revivalists, Courteeners and Royal & the Serpent under her belt, in addition to her own Los Angeles and New York headlining shows, SXSW and Boston Calling debuts and future performances at festivals such as BottleRock and Bonnaroo.

Paris offered listeners her debut album, wilted, in 2020, securing the number one spot on the iTunes US Alternative Albums Chart upon arrival. Andy Hull and Robert McDowell from the Manchester Orchestra collaborated with Paris on the 11-track, critically acclaimed project.

She re-introduced herself to listeners with honest and raw singles “lighthouse” and “just you” last summer. Produced by Butch Walker, “lighthouse” features Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready on guitar.
