Country hitmakers Old Dominion started the new year off strong by surprising fans with four brand-new tracks: “Memory Lane,” “Ain’t Got a Worry,” “Freedom Like You” and “Easier Said with Rum.”

The five-piece group received an overwhelming reaction when they first previewed “Memory Lane” on TikTok, and fans were soon met with the song announcement from the band on New Year’s Eve via social media. What listeners didn’t know is that Old Dominion would be sharing an additional three tracks in the release.

“Why release one new song when you can release four?” the band captioned an Instagram post the day of the release.

Penned by Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi with Grammy-nominated songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon, “Memory Lane” reminisces on relationships past as it highlights the unforgettable moments from a lost love.

“Sometimes, when I’m feeling overwhelmed, or missing someone, or maybe just feel a little nostalgic, there are places in my mind I can go that are full of memories of simpler times,” said Ramsey. “It’s a location, or a person, or a feeling that will always live in my memories and I can close my eyes and transport myself there anytime I want and experience it all again. I think we all have that time in our life that will remain forever perfect in our hearts. Sometimes we wish we could just stay there and never leave.”

“Thinkin’ ‘bout those sunsets that bled into jean jacket nights/ Those tangled up mornings lost in paradise/ Still drunk on the feeling when I close my eyes/ You’re pulling me closer, your head on my shoulder/ We’d never let go and we’d never be over,” sings Ramsey in the longing lyrics.

“Memory Lane,” “Ain’t Got a Worry,” “Freedom Like You” and “Easier Said with Rum” appear on the just released Memory Lane (Sampler).

The four songs are the current ACM Group of the Year and CMA Vocal Group of the Year’s first release since track “Beer With My Friends” with Kenny Chesney this past summer and come hot on the heels of their highly anticipated No Bad Vibes Tour. The 31-date stint will kick off on January 19 at Evansville, IN’s Ford Center and will wrap up on June 30 at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey’s.
