Morgan Wallen discussed how much he enjoys spending time with his two-year-old son, Indigo Wilder Wallen, during a recent interview with Backstage Country.

“It always really made me happy to have him and to know that I had a kid and someone who looked up to me, but the older he gets, you know, the more I see him becoming a person and becoming like me in ways. I don’t know man, I’m just proud, it makes me proud as hell,” Wallen said of Indigo and fatherhood during the interview.

Wallen also shared that although he doesn’t bring Indigo out on tour with him, he spends a lot of time with his son.

“I try to spend as much time as I can with him. I don’t really bring him on the road, because he’s just now about to be 2-years-old,” Wallen said prior to his son’s second birthday on Jul. 10. “I don’t get to see him when I’m on the road but basically as soon as I land or as soon as the bus gets in to town I go pick him up and I try to keep him until the night before or the morning of when I’m leaving.”

“We spend a lot of time together and he’s getting to that point where like last night he just climbed from the couch on to the counter that was over a bit. He’s getting to be a little bit too athletic and he’s a pretty big kid too, but I’m just proud dude, I like it more every day. The older he gets, and the more time I get to spend with him, the more I really love it. I hope he’s as proud of me as I am of him. I know that,” he added.

Morgan Wallen Recently Opened Up About Co-Parenting With KT Smith

Wallen shares son Indigo with his ex, KT Smith. Wallen revealed that co-parenting with Smith was going “good” back in May when he attended the Billboard Music Awards.

“[Co-parenting is] good, I got no complaints,” Wallen recently shared while on the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards with Entertainment Tonight. “I was worried about it at first, but I feel very comfortable with it and I’m really proud of the way me and his mom handle it,” he continued.

Wallen also reacted to Indigo attending his first concert, a stop on Wallen’s own Dangerous Tour, at the time.

“It was special, you know, I kind of dressed him like me and everything. We did the whole little shebang,” Wallen told Entertainment Tonight. “It was awesome, he got to spend it in the suite with my family and some other people. I think Jason Aldean was in there, so, he was in some pretty good company for his first concert,” he said.

Smith shared photos of she and Wallen’s son’s second birthday party on Instagram Monday (Jul. 11), writing that being Indigo’s mom was her “greatest accomplishment.” Wallen’s mom, Lesli appeared in the series of photos Smith posted on Instagram.

Morgan Wallen is currently in the midst of his massive The Dangerous Tour in support of the project. The tour, which is the biggest country tour of 2022 and runs through October, recently sold-out with over 800,000 tickets sold, according to Up2DateCountry.

In addition to HARDY and Larry Fleet, the country hitmaker recently added Lainey Wilson, Kameron Marlowe, Chase Rice, Ian Munsick, and ERNEST to his sold-out tour lineup.

The singer also announced his first-ever Stadium show in Arlington, Texas, at Globe Life Field on October 8, 2022, with special guests HARDY, Mike Ryan and Jake Worthington.
