Morgan Wallen returned to the stage for the first live performance since the racial slur controversy.
On Wednesday, May 19, the country superstar marked his first live performance on stage at Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse with a massive crowd filling the bar and the surrounding Nashville streets. The East Tennessee native performed, “Sand In My Boots,” a fan-favorite track from his record-breaking project, Dangerous: The Double Album.
“This is my first time performing in public in a long time,” Wallen told the crowd before singing. “I’m going to need you to sing loud with me.”
Wallen performed “Wasted On You” on stage with an acoustic guitar while the crowd roared the lyrics back to him. In addition to “Sand In My Boots” and “Wasted On You,” Wallen performed his chart-topping single “Whiskey Glasses.” Joined by a musician named John Stone and a full band, he also performed “Whiskey Glasses,” which prompted a huge sing-a-long during the brief set.
Additionally, the singer also appeared in a video alongside Kid Rock on a balcony at the bar. In addition to Wallen performing, Kid Rock also took the stage with a female fan to perform his smash hit “Picture,” which you can watch below.
