As George Strait celebrates his 70th Birthday, the country music community is coming together to wish the “king of country music” a Happy Birthday.

Artists such as Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Parker McCollum and more shared special messages on social media on Wednesday (May 18) to wish the Country Music Hall of Famer and Texas native a happy 70th birthday.

“Happy Birthday King George! I smile so big to every time I am lucky enough to share a stage with you. Forever Texas proud. 💙🤠 #hero,” Lambert wrote. Lambert recently shared the stage with Strait during his Vegas residency, where the superstar pair performed “Run” together.

“Happy birthday to the King! Not sure I would have ever started singing had I not heard Amarillo By Morning in my grandpas truck all those years ago,” McCollum said. “Thank you for setting the standard!”

McGraw celebrated the “king of country music’s” birthday with a cover of Strait’s “Unwound,” the lead single from Strait’s debut album, Strait Country, written by Dean Dillon and Frank Dycus.

“Happy Birthday King George!! So many great songs to choose from….” McGraw captioned the video. “This is one of my favorites. #Unwound @georgestrait.”

Tracy Lawrence, Maddie & Tae and Caitlyn Smith took to social media to pay tribute to the 70-year-old country icon with a special performance and a heartfelt message, respectively.
