Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram and Jon Randall brought their collaborative project to life on Wednesday, June 9 at the 2021 CMT Music Awards.

Live from Cedarwood Weddings, the trio performed “Tequila Does” around a campfire.

“I guess this will be our first time performing [this song] in front of people, cause the last time we performed [it] was in Marfa [Texas] around a campfire,” Lambert said ahead of her performance. “We kind of picked a few of our favorites to give people sort of a taste of the whole project.”

“Tequila Does” appears on the trio’s 15-track album, The Marfa Tapes, which was release on May 7.

The entire project  was recorded in Marfa, Texas, a place that Lambert says she loves traveling to, to escape from the world and write music. “Recorded in Marfa, TX. They’re raw. You can hear the wind blowing, the cows mooing…” Lambert previously shared of the project. “We wanted you to feel like you were right there with us, sitting around the campfire, escaping the world, disappearing into the music.”
