Miranda Lambert & Husband Brendan McLoughlin All Smiles On 2022 CMA Awards Red Carpet

Miranda Lambert, the most nominated female artist in CMA Awards history, graced the red carpet with husband Brendan McLoughlin by her side.

Wearing a blush pink hour glass dress with a black lace overlay and short train, Lambert held a small black clutch in one hand, with her other arm around her dashing husband. McLoughlin wore a classic suit, with a black velvet jacket, white collared shirt and black bow tie.

Nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year, Lambert will sing “Geraldene” off her CMA-nominated album Palomino, as well as perform in a tribute to her hero, Loretta Lynn.

Lambert’s latest single, “Strange,” was co-written by Lambert, Luke Dick, and Natalie Hemby on Lambert’s Tennessee farm in 2020 during the midst of the pandemic shutdown when life felt – strange.

“Have a smoke, buy a round/ Get on a jetliner goin’ anywhere-bound/ Pick a string, sing the blues/ Dance a hole in your shoes/ Do anything to keep you sane/ ‘Cause times like these make me feel strange/ Times like these make me feel strange,” sings Lambert.

“The chorus, we wanted it to lift and sort of be an anthem, and not creepy in any way,” Lambert explained to Billboard. “Just like, ‘Have fun, get a drink, get out of here, go on vacation’ — whatever you got to do to stay sane through all this weirdness. I wanted it to be an anthem uniting people. The pandemic definitely was the strangest thing we’ve all been through, but that’s just a piece of it.”

She recently filmed a live music video throughout her recent The Bandwagon Tour and her headlining set at Windy City Smokeout.

The Texas native is currently on a break from her Velvet Rodeo Las Vegas Residency at Zappos Theater, which kicked off on September 23, 2022. The Velvet Rodeo will return to Las Vegas on November 26.
