Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan McLoughlin have been traveling in their 2020 Airstream Globetrotter, known as “The Sheriff.”

Over the last few weeks, Lambert and Brendan have traveled from Tennessee to North Carolina and South Carolina and have now “made it home to Nashville, a few days earlier than planned.” As the couple were on their way home, they had to drive through Atlanta and Lambert says that a car driving erratically tried to squeeze between their airstream and a semi truck causing them to fishtail and damaging “the sheriff.”

“Unfortunately on the way home going through Atlanta, an ass hole in a small car with temp plates was driving erratically and tried to squeeze between us and a semi truck going 70 on I-20 W,” Lambert explained of the incident. “It hit the airstream on the passenger side and sent us into the left lane. We fishtailed pretty good but got on the shoulder as quickly as possible to assess the damage. Nobody was hurt thank the good Lord. But nobody stopped either and the car sped away.”

Continuing to share that she and Brendan are thankful that nothing worse happened and that their vehicle and trailer were able to be driven back home. After filing a police report, Lambert and Brendan hauled it home to Nashville.

On their way home prior to the accident, they made a stop in Greensboro, GA to have a “few restful days at Lake Oconee.”

“I actually picked that spot for an overnight because it mapped perfectly for our trip but when we got there I didn’t want to leave,” Lambert said. “We stayed an extra day because it was so beautiful. (And we ran out of clothes & needed to do laundry) I had to work too, so why not have a view while you Zoom? I have a feeling we will be back there in the summertime to enjoy the lake and the friendly people. We were looking for a dinner spot and we saw that there was a Ritz Carlton about 10 minutes from the KOA. We ate dinner and made some new friends from Orlando.”

After arriving home Lambert says that she “called mama right away to say that I know her prayers are always heard cause I know she prays for us every morning at about 4:30 a.m., especially when we are on the road.”

Lambert then shared that her husband Brendan kept the trailer pretty steady even though they were side swiped before thanking Airstream and Southland RV.

“Thanks to Airstream Inc and Southland RV, we are gonna be repaired and back to our vagabond ways soon. Anyway, overall it was an amazing trip and we learned we have a lot to see and a lot to be grateful for.”
