As of today (September 22), Matt Schuster‘s major label debut single, “Tell Me Tennessee,” is available to stream on all platforms, and it is just the beginning of an illustrious career for the Charleston, Illinois native.
After achieving a great deal of social media success, amassing over half a million followers on TikTok, the soon-to-be country star decided to pursue country music more professionally in late 2022, moving from his hometown to the one and only Music City.
Independently releasing songs like “Wasted Prayers,” “If I Was A Cowboy,” “Summer Nights In A Small Town” and more, ultimately garnering over 130 million streams, Schuster landed himself a label partnership with Warner Music Nashville, which was made public earlier this week.
Warner Music Nashville
On Wednesday (September 20), the thrilling news was announced at the rebranded Warner On Deck, where the co-chairs and co-presidents of Warner Music Nashville gushed about the rising country star.
“Matt’s voice has a quality and a range that will stop anyone in their tracks. There’s an instantaneous feeling that you’re hearing something material in a way you’ve never heard it before,” Cris Lacy gushed.
Ben Kline added with a smile, “Matt’s unique sound instantly drew us to him. Add to that his skill as a songwriter and the fan reaction he invokes, and the result is a very special artist that we are excited to partner with.”
The country crooner himself even took to Instagram to reveal his exciting new venture to his 103k followers, along with some images from the event: “My crazy dream has become a reality. I signed a Major Record Deal with Warner Music Nashville and I feel so blessed to have this team!”
“Tell Me Tennessee”
Following the signing earlier this week, the emerging artist officially released his first song since partnering with Warner Music Nashville, an extremely personal yet relatable track titled “Tell Me Tennessee.”
After teasing the hot new track on social media for weeks (to the delight of fans across the globe), “Tell Me Tennessee” hit all music streaming platforms today, giving country music lovers a taste of what’s to come from the star-in-the-making.
Written by Schuster himself, as well as Josh Dorr, Andy Albert and Lalo Guzman, “‘Tell Me Tennessee’ felt like the perfect first song to put out with my new family at Warner Music Nashville because it’s as much a love song as it is a song about chasing your dreams. Since moving to Tennessee to pursue music, it’s been such a whirlwind, and I think the romantic and nostalgic lyrics help paint the picture of how complicated yet exciting this chapter has been,” the one-of-a-kind artist gushed.
“This song is not only about the one that got away, [but] it’s also a song about the significance and hope that Tennessee holds for me,” Schuster concluded passionately.

To coincide with “Tell Me Tennessee,” the country troubadour dropped a music video that is equally as phenomenal.
Directed by Quinton Cook, Schuster is seen hitting all of Nashville’s most iconic spots while reminiscing on a past summer fling, from Midtown to Percy Priest and beyond. Riddled with tear-jerking flashbacks, the “Tell Me Tennessee” music video is truly a must-see, and fans wholeheartedly agree.
“AWESOME MAN,” one fan wrote in the comment section of the music video.
“Props the video is movie quality, song is also very nice, keep it up 🙂 on day you take off,” another shared.
