Luke Combs and his wife Nicole Hocking Combs welcomed their first child last month and have been “over the moon” since welcoming their new bundle of joy on Father’s Day (June 19).
Now that the couple are all settled in with their son, Combs’ wife Nicole recently took to Instagram stories to answer questions about their precious baby boy, Tex Lawrence.
During Nicole’s Wednesday evening (July 6) Q&A with her followers, the new-mom revealed what inspired Tex Lawrence’s name, who she thinks he looks like, how much he weighed at birth and more.
While answering questions, one follower asked Nicole: “how did you decide on the name Tex?” To which she answered, “Tex is Luke’s great uncle’s name, and Lawrence is her father’s name.”
Nicole previously shared that Tex’s name was a “family name but also pretty unique.”
She then admitted that she thought she was prepared for life with a newborn, but then realized that no matter how much you prepare to become a parent, you still will always feel unprepared.
“It’s crazy how sudden everything changes, haha,” Combs’ wife wrote. “No matter how much I thought I prepared for everything, I still free unprepared. The no sleep has been the hardest for me, but every mom and baby are different.”
When another follower asked: “Right now, do you think Tex looks more like you or Luke?” She replied, “I feel like he looks different every day! Today he kinda looks more like Luke if I had to pick lol.”
During the Q&A she also revealed that Tex weighed 7lb, 6 oz at birth and that both her and Luke were born with full heads of hair so it comes as no shocker that Tex was born with a full head of hair too.

“Welp he decided that Father’s Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy,” he wrote alongside their first family photo in the baby’s nursery. “Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”
Luke Combs’ recently released new album, Growin’ Up, debuted at No. 1 upon release. The 12-track project features the chart-topping hit, “Doin’ This,” Combs’ current single, “The Kind Of Love We Make,” and “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a duet with Miranda Lambert, among several others.
The reigning CMA Entertainer Of The Year will hit the road this fall on his headlining Middle Of Somewhere Tour with direct support from Jordan Davis. The trek, which kicks off on September 2 in Bangor, ME, will also feature special guests Morgan Wade and Lainey Wilson on select dates.
In November 2022, the country hitmaker will launch his Canadian tour with special guests Riley Green and Chayce Beckham.
