Luke Combs debuted the music video for his latest multi-week, chart-topping single “Lovin’ On You” on Wednesday (Sept. 9).
The country superstar’s visually stunning new Tyler Adams-directed video was produced by Aaron Conner of TA Films, the aforementioned trio all attended Appalachian State University together. They first came together to work on Combs’ debut music video for “Let The Moonshine” in 2014, TA Films has also filmed the video’s for “Hurricane,” “When It Rains It Pours” and “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
In the video, The superstar is seen singing from inside of a ’90s-era skating rink that called ‘Kappy’s Skating Center’ with flashbacks to younger versions of himself, his band and his wife, Nicole Hocking Combs. It seems the that the overall theme of the video is young love at first sight, working up the nerve to ask their significant other to ask them to skate during the couple skate during Hocking’s “birthday party” as the Dj says in the opening seconds of the video.
“Had a blast making it with my beautiful wife, Nicole Hocking, the band, and some younger versions of all of us,” Combs explained.
“Lovin’ On You” was co-written by Combs alongside Thomas Archer, Ray Fulcher and James McNair. It was released in June 2020 and appears on his album, What You See Is What You Get. The song earned him his eighth multi-week No. 1 single, the track is on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart for the second consecutive week.
