Luke Combs shared an unreleased new song entitled “Grown’ Up And Gettin’ Old” on Tuesday (Feb. 16).
“Haven’t been able to get home from Daytona yet because of the weather, so we’re just hanging out and I figured I’d share a new song I’ve been working on with Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder,” Combs captioned a video.
In the just-released clip, Combs sings the new song while strumming a signed Daytona 500 branded acoustic guitar.
“I still hit them dive bars every once in a blue moon / got a wild card that I keep inside my boot / I been thinking lately maybe I should save it / Cause them hangovers sure kick my ass these days / I spend most my happy hours here at home / but in the middle of growin’ up and gettin’ old,” Combs sings in the chorus. “But I can still raise hell all night with the boys when I want to / lay that hammer down to see how fast she’ll go / but these days I hang my hat on what I won’t do / And I been findin’ peace of mind slowin’ my role / Learn to tow that line with time as it goes / I’m in the middle of growin up and gettin’ old.”

“Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” was co-written by Combs alongside Channing Wilson and Rob Snyder.
Combs recently honored Dale Earnhardt while performing at NASCAR’s Daytona 500 on Sunday (Feb. 14) in Florida. The superstar was unable to get home due to the ongoing winter weather conditions, so he and his songwriter buddies are using the time wisely to write some new tunes, which is where this new song comes from.
The superstar is set to host a What You See Is What You Get tour concert replay on February 18 via Facebook and YouTube.
