Luke Combs and his pregnant wife Nicole Hocking Combs are currently preparing to welcome their second child, who will join their 14-month-old son Tex.

“Fundamental Shift Of Everything”

While co-hosting Country Countdown USA over the weekend, the country superstar reflected on fatherhood, telling Lon Helton that “it’s a fundamental shift of everything.”

“The priority list has gone from 10 things to just one,” he said. “They learn something new every day. As a songwriter, once you have a kid, how would you write about anything else? I’m always writing about him. The majority of what I do is at home with my wife & son, and preparing for this next one.”

Gives Update On First Child, Tex Lawrence

Combs also shared an update on Tex, revealing that his son is “almost walking.”

“He’s moving and grooving all over,” he revealed. “He’ll just have to stumble and not fall to realize he can walk. He can crawl 10 miles an hour. He’s a super happy baby, always laughing.”

Awaiting Arrival Of Second Child

As for baby No. 2, he and Nicole still hadn’t decided on a name. “We still haven’t picked one out,” he admitted. “I wish we did, because we can’t seem to figure it out. We’re not in disagreement.  We just don’t have one we both like. We’ll figure it out.”

Combs recently wrapped up a series of tour dates in Australia, which had the potential to interfere with baby No. 2’s arrival.

In an interview with Mike Adam for Audacy’s Check In series, Combs noted that he would be “cutting it close” for the birth.

“It’s actually kind of getting down to the wire here because I’m going to tour in Australia here in about a week. So going to be cutting it close with the due date on getting home,” he said, adding that becoming a father of two is “going to be wild.”

He also shared that he and Nicole were leaning toward choosing a family name over just a name they liked for their second son.

“We’ve tooled around with both,” he said. “We’re going to lean more towards a family name, but open to anything too.”

Luke Combs’ Wife Nicole Is Due Any Day Now

Nicole also addressed her husband’s touring schedule in a Q&A on Instagram when she was asked whether Combs would be forced to cancel his Australian dates if she went into labor early.

“It’s around 20 hours to get back from Aus if he got on a plane immediately lol. So no,” Nicole shared.

“I’m not due until after he gets back [from Australia], so I’m trying really hard not to go into early labor,” she continued. “With Tex, I was doing everything in my power to get him out & he was a day early.”

Combs’ final Australian date was on August 26, which means that he likely made it back in time for his son’s birth. Neither Combs nor Nicole has shared any baby updates on social media in recent days, though they’ll surely announce their son’s arrival when he does come along.

2023 Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour

The country star will resume his tour on September 30 in Norway, which means he has an entire month at home to spend with his family. He has additional European dates booked through October, with a months long break through 2024, when he begins his Growin’ Up And Gettin’ Old Tour.

The trek features two back-to-back nights of shows in each city it visits, starting with Milwaukee on April 12 and concluding in Houston on August 10.

Along the way, Combs will receive support from Cody Jinks, The Avett Brothers, Charles Wesley Godwin, Hailey Whitters, The Wilder Blue, Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, Drew Parker and Colby Acuff.
