Luke Combs sits atop Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart this week with his new album, Growin’ Up, dethroning Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album from the No.1 position.

According to Luminate (via Billboard), during its debut week, ending on June 30, Growin’ Up earned 74,000 equivalent album units. Of that 74,000, 44,000 are streaming equivalent album units, 28,000 are albums, and 2,000 are track equivalent albums.

This marks Combs’ fourth career No.1 debut on Billboard’s Top Country Albums Chart.

Growin’ Up debuted at No.2 on the all-genre Billboard 200, securing his fourth Top 10 on that chart. Billboard reports that this is the highest entrance for a full-length country album so far this year and the top-selling country debut week this year.

Wallen’s Dangerous has raked in 63 weeks atop the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart since its January 8, 2021, release.

During a recent interview on the Full Send podcast, Combs shared his thoughts on who the top country artist in the world is and without hesitation, he answered, “Ooh man, it’s either me or [Morgan] Wallen, for sure.”

When the host asked Combs if there is any “competitiveness” there, he said, “I mean, I think anybody who says there’s not is lying, you know. I think any business is competitive.”

The “Doin’ This” singer went on to share his appreciation for Wallen.

“Dude, I love Morgan,” Combs said. “I think he’s a great guy, man. I really do. And we’ve been on tour together, man, you know. I mean, I don’t think there’s any, at least to my knowledge, that it’s like… I don’t know of any country music [feud] like, ‘oh, I hate this guy, I can’t stand this guy.’ Like I don’t know of anything, at least that comes to mind straight away.”

Luke Combs’ Growin’ Up was released on June 24. The 12-track project features the chart-topping hit, “Doin’ This,” Combs’ current single, “The Kind Of Love We Make,” and “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a duet with Miranda Lambert.

The country superstar is enjoying some time at home with his wife, Nicole, and their newborn son, Tex Lawrence.

The reigning CMA Entertainer Of The Year will hit the road on his headlining Middle Of Somewhere Tour with direct support from Jordan Davis. The trek, which kicks off on September 2 in Bangor, ME, will also feature special guests Morgan Wade and Lainey Wilson on select dates.

In November 2022, the country hitmaker will launch his Canadian tour with special guests Riley Green and Chayce Beckham.
