Luke Bryan shared an emotional moment on stage with two young fans during a chilling performance of his chart-topping hit, “Drink A Beer.”
The country superstar was in the midst of his headlining performance at Xfinity Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut on Saturday evening (July 30) during his Raised Up Right Tour, when he noticed two young fans holding up a shirt in the crowd that read “Our dad died can we sing ‘Drink A Beer’ together?”
“These boys have been holding this shirt up all night since I walked out on stage tonight,” Bryan told the crowd as he held the shirt up high for everyone in the audience to see.
The “Country On” singer then took to the crowd to help the two boys get up on the stage.

Bryan put on the shirt and proudly wore it as the brothers, who recently lost their father, joined him for a performance of “Drink A Beer.”
The country hitmaker wrapped his arms around the two boys as they sang the poignant tune.
“So I’m gonna sit right here / On the edge of this pier / Then watch the sunset disappear / And drink a beer,” Bryan and the two brothers sing as tears begin to flow.

At one point, Bryan sweetly wiped the tears off one of the boy’s cheeks.
“For anybody that’s lost somebody out there, I love you, thank you,” Bryan concluded the performance.

“Drink A Beer,” which was co-written by Chris Stapleton and Jim Beavers, appears on Luke Bryan’s 2013 album, Crash My Party. The tune has gone on to become one of the most impactful songs of Bryan’s career and earned him his seventh No. 1 on the Billboard Airplay chart.
Although Bryan didn’t have a hand in writing the emotional track, the tune is very meaningful to him as he connected to the emotional lyrics after losing two of his siblings.
The Georgia native tragically lost his brother, Chris, in a car accident in 1996. His sister, Kelly, passed away unexpectedly in 2007. The five-time Entertainer of the Year opens up about the tragic loss of his siblings in the 2021 documentary, Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary.
Luke Bryan Is Currently In The Midst Of His Raised Up Right Tour
Additionally, Bryan is currently in the midst of his Raised Up Right Tour, which kicked off on June 9 in Charleston, West Virginia.
The trek features support from Riley Green and Mitchell Tenpenny and continues through October 28, where it will wrap up in Jacksonville, Florida.
“My favorite place to be is on stage performing to country music fans,” Bryan previously shared. “So thankful every night when I walk out on that stage and know you are there to have a blast along beside me. It never gets old!”
The tour name comes from the lyrics of Bryan’s previous single “Up.”
“Up / In the sky, there’s a guy / Lookin’ down on us / Lookin’ up / Our whole life, raised up right / In a town nobody knows / What a way to grow,” he sings on the chorus.
