While co-hosting Country Countdown USA alongside Lon Helton, Helton asked Luke how his wife was doing after she underwent the surgery.
“She’s good,” Luke told Helton, before explaining what happened to Caroline and why she had to have surgery.
“She’d torn her labrum in her hip, and it was right after the CMAs, and there’s never a good time to do that, but she’s good,” Luke continued. “She’s a big tennis player, and probably injured it through tennis.”
In addition to Luke sharing an update on his wife with fans, Caroline Bryan also took to social media to update fans on her condition on Friday (Nov. 18) with a video update after leaving her bed and getting out of the house for the first time since going under the knife.
“Getting out of the house,” the mother of two wrote in her Instagram stories alongside a boomerang of herself in a wheelchair.
She later shared a video detailing the reason for her surgery. While rolling in the wheelchair outside the home she shares with Bryan, Caroline went on to share an update with her 1.1 million followers.
“Finally getting out after a long week and these days I’m not walking and I am rolling in this, but I wanted to give an explanation,” she said. “I know I said unexpected surgery. It wasn’t unexpected, I just wasn’t ready to accept it. I’ve known for a month I had to have it, so there’s no emergency, no fall, no car wreck.”
She then detailed the ailments that led to the surgery.
“I had a torn labrum, hip dysplasia and a lot of arthritis and so it had gotten so bad that we just had to fix it. So, that’s it, but I will do whatever they tell me to do to get better and get back out cause this whole not being able to move thing is not for me. But anyway, that’s it.”
Caroline, who is the owner of the Best Bad Influence clothing line, first shared the news of her surgery on November 14 alongside a photo of herself in a hospital bed at The Bone And Joint Institute of Tennessee.
“Well…unexpected hip surgery…but I got the best care and surrounded by the most selfless friends ever,” she captioned the post.
At the time, the country singer’s wife didn’t share any details of what happened or why she had to have a sudden hip surgery.
The beloved country couple were all smiles as they walked the red carpet. Bryan wore a classic black suit with a bow tie, while Caroline opted for a leopard print dress with a halter-neck and keyhole detail and added some sparkle to her look with a silver studded belt.
In addition to co-hosting the show, Bryan also performed his latest single, “Country On.”
Caroline and Luke Bryan have been married for over 15 years and share two children together, Thomas (Bo) Boyer Bryan, and Tatum (Tate) Christopher Bryan. They also adopted three of their nieces and nephews, Jordan Cheshire, Kris Cheshire, Tilden Cheshire, after a family tragedy.
Luke Bryan recently wrapped his Raised Up Right Tour and will enjoy some downtime over the Thanksgiving holiday. On November 30, he will return to The Theatre at Resorts World in Las Vegas for a six-show run of Luke Bryan: Vegas.
