Lauren Alaina and her soon-to-be husband Cam Arnold made their red carpet debut at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday (Sept. 28).
Arriving hand in hand, the couple graced the red carpet at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, the same location where they had made their relationship public.
How Did Lauren Alaina And Her Boyfriend Cam Arnold Meet?
During a recent interview with ET Online, Alaina revealed that she and Arnold met at Crash My Playa in Mexico.
“We met in Mexico at the [all-inclusive concert vacation] Crash My Playa that Luke Bryan has every year. Luke Bryan brought us together,” Alaina recalled of the night she met her fiancé. “He’s friends with Luke’s niece and her husband, so he was backstage, and we were at the taco stand, and apparently I ate my tacos really fast, and he was like, ‘Nobody’s gonna take those tacos away from you!’”
“First thing he ever said to me. And that was when I knew,” she added while laughing.
After making small talk over tacos, Alaina says that the pair then exchanged digits. “I gave him my number, but he came home and told his best friend, ‘I met the woman I’m gonna marry,’” Alaina explained. “And I did not leave Mexico feeling that way, but he was right. I’m gonna marry him.”
“He is very funny. And hot!” Alaina gushed.
Announced Engagement At The Grand Ole Opry In 2022
Even though the couple confirmed their relationship, they opted not to make their romance public until November 2022 when Alaina announced her engagement during her Grand Ole Opry performance.
“I was welcomed into this family, and it was a dream of mine as long as I can remember,” Alaina told the audience, referencing her 2022 Opry induction. “I didn’t think this year could get any better, [but Friday] I got asked into another family!”
“Everybody, this is my fiancé,” Alaina continued. “I told him he had to come out here, and we had to get a picture. So, we’re doing it because this is the circle, and I’m going to hold my hand up and do the thing. Make some noise for my future husband, everybody!”

Following her announcement at the Grand Ole Opry, Lauren Alaina took to social media to share the exciting news with her fans.
“BRIDE be dang’d, y’all. My best friend, @arnold.cam, asked me to marry him, and I announced it at my favorite place in the world, @opry,” she captioned. “I didn’t know happiness and excitement like this existed. I can’t wait to be Mrs. Cameron Scott Arnold. 💍 #Laurnold.”
Since announcing their engagement, Alaina and Arnold have taken several well-documented trips together overseas.
While the couple have yet to get married or reveal a wedding date, Lauren Alaina and Cam Arnold are preparing to say “I do” in the very near future.
2023 People’s Choice Country Awards
The first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards will take place at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee on Thursday (Sept. 28).
Throughout the show, awards for 12 categories will be given out, including People’s Artist of 2023, Male Artist of 2023, Female Artist of 2023, Group/Duo of 2023, New Artist of 2023, Social Country Star of 2023, Song of 2023, Collaboration Song of 2023, Crossover Song of 2023, Album of 2023, Music Video of 2023 and Concert Tour of 2023.
Toby Keith will be honored with the Country Icon Award and Wynonna Judd is set to be celebrated with the Country Champion Award.
The coveted awards show will feature performances from Blake Shelton, Carly Pearce, Dan + Shay, HARDY, Jelly Roll, Kane Brown, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town, Toby Keith, Wynonna Judd and more.
Adam Doleac, Blake Shelton, Brothers Osborne, Carly Pearce, Chris Young, Dustin Lynch, Gabby Barrett, Hunter Hayes, Jessie James Decker, Josh Ross, Kameron Marlowe, Kristin Cavallari, Lady A, Lauren Alaina, Leanne Morgan, Mickey Guyton, Nikki Garcia, Scotty McCreery and The War And Treaty are also set to take the stage as presenters.
Little Big Town will serve as the host of the show. “We are honored to host the inaugural ‘People’s Choice Country Awards,’ especially on one of our most beloved stages in the entire world,” the group previously shared in a press release. “We look forward to welcoming so many of our talented peers to take the Opry stage for this magical night of music.”
The 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards’ is set to air live on NBC and Peacock on September 28 at 8/7c simultaneously on NBC and Peacock.
