Sporting a cowgirl outfit accentuated by a black cowboy hat, Wilson took the stage against a Western-themed backdrop, belting out the lyrics to the mashup of her biggest country hits.

The 31-year-old singer/songwriter’s performance took place on the People’s Choice Awards stage inside the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.

Female Country Artist Of The Year Winner

Shortly after her jaw-dropping performance, Lainey Wilson was named Female Country Artist of The Year. After hearing Glen Powell, Natasha Bedingfield and Sydney Sweeney call her name as the winner, Wilson made her way to the stage with a big smile on her face to graciously accept the trophy. On her way to the stage, she high-fived her boyfriend, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, who cheered her on from the audience.

“These last couple weeks have been crazy. Really, really crazy,” Wilson said, acknowledging her recent success that included her first-ever GRAMMY Award win earlier this year. “Y’all I am so proud of Country music right now, and I am so proud to be a part of this generation of Country music.”

“I feel like everybody looks different and sounds different and has a different story and comes from different walks of life, and it truly is the storytelling of Country music that keeps drawing people to it, and I know that,” Wilson continued. “I just want to say thank y’all so much for letting me tell my story. Thank you for letting me tell my story and somehow finding your story within the lyrics, within the melodies, within the guitar riffs, whatever it is. My gosh, Country music makes you feel at home, and I think everybody wants to feel at home. Like I said, I’m so proud of it right now.”

Thanked Her Team, Family, Fans And Boyfriend

The country music sensation went on to graciously thank her parents, team and the entire Country music community for their support over the years.

“Thank you to my mama, my daddy, my family, my hometown, my team, Mandelyn, I love you so much. Duck, I love you back there. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I will say I could not do this without him guiding me every single step of the way. Also, I want to thank the fans. I’m telling you right now, I couldn’t do this without y’all, my wild horses. Y’all keep showing up, and I’ll keep showing up too,” Wilson concluded.

Brought A Country Flair To People’s Choice Awards Red Carpet

Lainey Wilson turned heads when she arrived to the People’s Choice Awards red carpet. Wearing a figure-hugging leopard-print bell-bottom jumpsuit, Wilson radiated confidence while walking the celebrity-packed red carpet.

The Roberto Cavalli jumpsuit, adorned with a halter neckline and a bold keyhole neck, showcased the Louisiana native’s daring style. Completing her Cherie Kilchrist-styled ensemble, she added a finishing touch with a wide-brimmed Charlie 1 Horse black hat and Le Vian jewelry.

Wilson’s “dusty cowgirl” glam was completed by Jess Berrios Mylott, Wilson’s hair and makeup artist.
