The show must go on! Lainey Wilson proved why she is destined to become a future Entertainer Of The Year with an impromptu acoustic performance at Bank of America Stadium in North Carolina on Saturday (July 15) after her equipment was damaged from a lightning strike.

Wilson’s videographer documented the unforgettable performance and the Louisiana native later shared a clip on her social media graciously thanking fans for sticking around even after a weather delay.

“We ain’t ever gonna let it rain on this parade… Charlotte, thank y’all for singin’ loud and proud with us,” Wilson wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her and the massive crowd belting out the lyrics to “Heart Like a Truck.”

Performing for nearly 75,000 fans at the home of the North Carolina Panthers, Wilson offered a stripped down set that featured her raw vocals and one band member on acoustic guitar.

According to a concertgoer social media posts, Lainey Wilson performed “Watermelon Moonshine,” “Heart Like A Truck,” “Wait In The Truck,” and more.

Wilson’s set turned into one big sing-along as the fans showcased their endless love and support for the country hitmaker.

Luke Combs Performed After A Shelter In Place Alert

Later in the evening, Luke Combs was forced to exit the stage after performing one song and fans were asked to “shelter in place” due to impending storms.

“I got to get off stage for lightning. So listen, here’s the deal, ain’t nothing I can do about it, but I ain’t going nowhere. If y’all ain’t going nowhere I ain’t going nowhere. If we gotta play till 5 o’clock tomorrow morning that what’s we’re going to do,” Combs told the audience.

About an hour after exiting the stage, Combs returned to deliver a full headlining set in the pouring rain.

Previously Performed In Torrential Downpour

This isn’t the first time Lainey Wilson was forced to perform in inclement weather. In early June at Carolina Country Music Fest in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Wilson braved a torrential downpour and offered a show-stopping performance.

Rather than let the weather sideline her performance, Wilson powered through, proving her unwavering dedication for her craft and love for her fans.  Although fans were also getting soaked, the crowd stayed in place to show their support for the Bell Bottom Country Queen.

In videos shared on social media, Wilson can be seen making her way around the stage as rain pours down around her. She even has to hold onto her hat due to the wind from the storm.

On Tour With Luke Combs

Lainey Wilson is currently on the road with Luke Combs on his 2023 World Tour, which kicked off on March 25 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Each night of the tour, the superstars join forces to perform, “Outrunnin’ Your Memory,” a track that originally features Combs with Miranda Lambert.

Additionally, Lainey Wilson will continue to serve as direct support for Combs throughout the U.S. leg of the trek, which wraps up on July 29 in Philadelphia, PA at Lincoln Financial Field.

To Join Eric Church And HARDY On Tour Later This Year

Following her trek with Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson will hit the road with Eric Church for select dates of his The Outsiders Revival Tour

Wilson will also join HARDY for the second leg of his the mockingbird & THE CROW tour, presented by Ebay Motors, which kicks off on August 31 in Knoxville, Tennessee at Knoxville Civic Coliseum. “It’s about dang time HARDY and I toured together again! It’s gonna be WILD with all these rednecks together,” Wilson wrote on Instagram at the time of the tour announcement.
