“Thank you to anybody and everybody who has given me a chance,” Wilson said in a post on Instagram. “That’s all I’ve ever wanted. I was taught, if you want something, you go get the dang thing. There were so many hands on deck to get this song to number one, and a “thank you” just don’t do it justice. But thank you to the folks who have given me a pat on the back, encouraged me, listened to my music, given me an opportunity, told me I could do it, and even the ones who told me I couldn’t do it because it made me want it that much more. This is just the beginning. And to anybody who has a dream so deep down in their heart that can’t stand it… put your blinders on, lean in, and go get it. CHEERS TO MY FIRST #1 ON COUNTRY RADIO.”

In addition to sharing a message on Instagram, the singer also shared a clip via TikTok on Sunday (Sept. 19) evening, the country music singer expressed how grateful she is after earning her first-ever No. 1 single.

“‘Things A Man Oughta Know’ is No. 1 on country radio. I have a No. 1 country song,” Wilson said in disbelief in the emotion-filled video.

“I’m at a loss for words, I have so many thoughts going through my brain right now, and I’m thinking of literally every single person who has helped me along the way,” Wilson continued. “It started with my Mama and my Daddy. My Mama and my Daddy helping me buy my camper trailer and moving it to Nashville in 2011. Anybody who let me play a little bar gig, anybody who would write a song with me, anybody who follows me, who has followed me from the beginning, who followed me yesterday. I can not thank y’all enough for people just giving me a shot. This is the first one, let’s go get another one.”

Co-written by Wilson alongside Jason Nix and Jonathan Singleton, and produced by Jay Joyce, “Things A Man Oughta Know” appears on Wilson’s debut album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’.

Wilson earned the No.1 spot on both the Mediabase and Billboard Country radio charts with her hit “Things A Man Oughta Know.” She is the first new solo female artist to accomplish this feat since Gabby Barrett with “I Hope” in April 2020.

The track has garnered more than 146 million on-demand streams and has been in the Top 10 in Country single sales for several weeks. The single (having reached the No.1 position on Sirius XM’s The Highway Hot 30 Weekend Countdown) is also having international success—it has been certified Gold in Canada, reaching the Top 5 on Canadian Country radio and is just as popular in the UK.
