On Friday, April 9, the country singer shared a special performance of the track on Instagram to celebrate the song’s 1 year anniversary. The clip finds Hardy performing his debut single live from a tropical destination, complete with some stunning views of the beach behind him.

“I can’t believe it’s been a year since the release of ‘Ground I Grew Up On,’” Hardy explained in the video’s opening. “I just want to thank y’all for the love and support. So i’m going to play it, a year later.”

“Ground I Grew Up On” was co-written by heavy-hitters Brandon Kinney, Josh Thompson and Brett Beavers.

Additionally, Music Mayhem recently named Hardy an artist to watch in 2021, saying “the Louisiana native may have been the champion of Season 17 of American Idol in 2019 but we think he is going to be the champion of country music in 2021.”

Hardy is also in the studio “working on a ton of new music” and shared that fans are in for a nice surprise.
