Koe Wetzel is currently on his sprawling The Night Champion World Tour in support of his latest album of the same name, and one of the upcoming stops on the lengthy 50-plus date trek will mark one of his biggest shows yet in Music City at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.
The highly anticipated concert, which takes place on Saturday, August 8, will feature support from Shane Smith & The Saints, Bayker Blankenship and Logan Jahnke. But according to the country-rocker fans should also be prepared for the unexpected.
“I’m excited to be back in Nashville. Every time we get to come to Nashville, it’s a lot of fun, and now it’s just on a little bigger of a stage,” Wetzel shared during a recent interview with Music Mayhem at CMA Fest 2026 in downtown Nashville.
“And so yeah, we’ve got a lot of friends and a lot of fans here, and I know we’re just really excited about it. We’re excited about so much of the tour and kind of going all over and hitting a lot of places that we’ve hit before, but just kind of on a bigger scale now,” he added. “And so it’s exciting.”
Wetzel, a Texas native, pointed out that he and his band have played various locations around Music City, including the Ascend Amphitheatre.
“A lot of these venues we started out at Exit/In out here in Nashville to damn near a hundred people,” he recalled of his early years grinding it out as a singer/songwriter and musician. “So, now seeing it, man, it’s really cool. And like I said, man, we can’t wait to get out here in the fall and bring this Texas Rock to y’all.”
For Wetzel, the Bridgestone stop marks a major milestone in a career that has steadily evolved from scrappy Texas club gigs into sold-out arena shows around the globe. Over the last decade, the rowdy, rough, and edgy singer-songwriter built a loyal following with a sound that blends country storytelling, grunge grit and Texas outlaw spirit.
Long before headlining arenas, Wetzel was traveling in a beat-up van, playing small bars and regional venues while building his fan base from the ground up. That relentless touring eventually propelled him from regional favorite to national headliner.
Now, with his latest album, The Night Champion, out, Wetzel is reflecting on that journey through music that balances chaos, hard-earned perspective, and growth. And, fans attending his Nashville stop can likely expect to hear plenty of songs from his new project, along with the rowdy atmosphere he has become known for on stage.
As for whether he has any surprises planned for Music City, even Wetzel himself seems unsure.
“I don’t know, man. There’s no telling with us,” the father of one-year-old daughter Woods Madison Wetzel and fiancé to Bailey Fisher shared. “You can expect a rowdy, crazy show, I think. Surprises, I don’t know. I’m kind of the spur-of-the-moment kind of guy. I kind of just do everything off the cuff. I don’t know. There’s no telling. I can’t tell you what my surprises are going to be. Then it wouldn’t be a surprise.”
Beyond Nashville, Wetzel will continue bringing The Night Champion World Tour to fans across the U.S., Canada, and Australia as part of the 50-plus-date run. The tour officially launches its U.S. and Canadian leg on July 8 and features varying support from artists including Ole 60, Wyatt Flores, Corey Kent, Wade Bowen, Kolby Cooper and more.
