Just days after The Band Perry announced they were disbanding the group, former lead singer of the award-winning sibling trio, Kimberly Perry, says she is ready to embark on a solo career.

The 39-year-old country music superstar has officially inked a record deal with Records Nashville/Columbia Records. And she says she already feels like her new team is a great fit. They’ve made her feel welcomed as she looks ahead to the future.

“Today I want to share the good news with you that I, at long last, have found my label home with RECORDS Nashville!” Perry announced on Instagram, alongside a Stoic photo of her wearing a sheer white top decorated in lace.

She continued, “A good home nurtures you, comforts you, and helps you grow by challenging your ideas while still supporting your dreams. That’s what @recordsco is for me and my solo voice. I feel so seen – finally. 🙏.”

“From the moment I met the team at RECORDS, their appreciation for my journey and my vision for the future as a solo artist has been overwhelming,” Perry added in a press release. “Everything came together, so organically, and it felt right from the very start.”

Executives at Records are echoing Perry’s sentiments, with the label’s Founder and C.E.O., Barry Weiss, saying, “We’re so excited at RECORDS Nashville to welcome Kimberly Perry as a solo artist with her return to country music.”

“We are thrilled about the honor of working with one of the most recognizable artists in country music. Kimberly has made some incredible music for her solo country debut, and we can’t wait to share it with the world,” added RECORDS Nashville EVP Promo & Commercial Strategy Josh Easler and RECORDS Nashville EVP Joe Fisher.

Perry’s new venture means she has recently become an official Music City transplant. And that’s something she says she’s been looking to do for many years.

“I have wanted to live in Nashville since I was eight years old, but I only recently got to officially plant roots here,” the Mississippi native said. “Being in this town of amazing, creative people for the past year brought me full circle to my original passions – country music and sharing meaningful stories. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful and welcoming community here, and I feel equally lucky to have found the perfect partner in Records to get my new music out to the fans.”

In late March, The Band Perry announced they were splitting up to focus on their “individual creative pursuits.”

“To our TBP friends and family. We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits,” The Band Perry shared a statement on Instagram on Monday (March 27).“During this season, we will continue to support each other as artists and family in all we do. Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true! Love you all. Kimberly, Reid, and Neil.”

Perry’s new step into music as a solo artist is quite bittersweet as she is the co-founder of The Band Perry, which formed in 2005 and includes her two brothers, Reid and Neil Perry. The group’s first Top 20 hit came four years later, with their co-penned “Hip To My Heart.” But, it was their follow-up, 2010’s “If I Die Young,” which shot up all the way to the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s US Hot Country Songs Chart.

Meanwhile, the band went on to score big with songs like “Better Dig Two,” “You Lie,” “All Your Life,” “Done,” “Postcard From Paris” and “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely.” Their albums 2010’s The Band Perry and 2013’s Pioneer, also held the No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top Country Albums Chart, respectively.

Following their recent split, Perry’s brother Reid took to his Instagram page, letting folks know, “[I] Can’t wait to show you everything that’s happening. Love you all! Talk soon.”

At this point, Neil hasn’t yet shared his plans on the music front, but judging by his latest Instagram snap, he’s been keeping busy spending time with his fiancée, Sofia Rose.

As for Perry, she recently teased a series of black-and-white photos on Instagram, indicating that she could be dropping new music very soon.

“Spring things are happening…” she captioned one of the posts in her series of cryptic messaging.

Folks, of course, will have to wait for additional updates from Perry to see when she plans to release new music, but judging by her new label home, it’s clear she’s got plenty on the horizon.
