The Jonas Brothers are currently out on their aptly named The Tour, and one emotional moment at their show in Toronto on Saturday moved band member Kevin Jonas to tears.

During the concert, Joe Jonas noticed a fan in the audience holding a sign that read “Dedicate Little Bird to My Angel in Heaven” and paused the show to speak to the woman, telling her that he “got choked up” reading her sign. After sharing that her name was Magda, Joe asked her to share her “little bird’s” name, to which she responded, “Valentina.”

Tribute To Fan’s Late Daughter

Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle share two daughters, 9-year-old Alena and 6-year-old Valentina. Upon hearing Magda share her daughter’s name, Kevin placed his hand on his heart and turned away as Joe asked the fan if he could give her a hug.

“This one’s for Valentina, okay?” Joe said. “She’s here with us tonight, for sure.”

The Jonas Brothers proceeded to perform their song “Little Bird,” which was written for their own daughters. Joe and wife Sophie Turner share two daughters, while Nick and wife Priyanka Chopra welcomed their daughter Malti last year.

In videos recorded by fans, all three brothers appear emotional as they perform the song, Kevin wiping away tears at one point as he strums his guitar.

“Little Bird” Appears On The Album

Before The Tour began, the Jonas Brothers spoke to Entertainment Tonight about performing “Little Bird,” which appears on their most recent album, The Album.

Kevin noted that he would likely be the first of the brothers to cry when they perform the song, though Nick guessed it would be the fans. “I think it will be more people in the audience crying than us,” he said.

Nick told PEOPLE before the tour began that he and his brothers have recently been able to see just how the song connects with listeners.

“Even just the dress rehearsal, it’s the first time we’ve seen how it’s affecting people in their own lives and what their connection is to it,” he explained. “Obviously for us, it’s about our specific journey in parenting, but I think the song is really meant to be an anthem for every person who is a parent, is a child or has a connection with somebody that they look up to and what that relationship looks like.”

The Tour runs through June 2024 and features the brothers performing songs from all five of their studio albums each night. The trek kicked off earlier this month with two shows at Yankee Stadium in New York City.

“Ecstatic” To Be On The Road

While Kevin was “ecstatic” to get things going, Joe admitted to ET that he was “feeling a bit overwhelmed.”

“But now that we’ve gotten it up and running and we did a dress rehearsal with a live audience, two nights ago, I think we finally realized we can do this thing,” he said. “We built an incredible show for the people out there that have question marks in their brains saying, ‘How are these boys going to do this?’ Well, we can and we will. We’ll see you at Yankees.”

The Tour currently has 94 dates, including international stops, making it the Jonas Brothers’ biggest outing yet.

“It’s our most ambitious show we’ve ever put on, in the sense that building out five albums in one night was a challenge that I don’t think we fully understood after we’d already put it on sale,” Nick told PEOPLE. “[But] it’s amazing to just go back and look at the road that brought us to this moment now.”
