Kelsea Ballerini has had a busy year so far. The female country powerhouse just completed her first arena tour in support of her latest album, Patterns, and ended her inaugural season as a judge on The Voice.

Kelsea Ballerini Reveals She’s Taking A Break

Needless to say, the 31-year-old East Tennessee native is in dire need of some rest and relaxation, and she couldn’t agree more.

During a visit as part of an episode of TODAY With Jenna & Friends, Ballerini opened up about her packed schedule with Jenna Bush, saying, “I need a break, and I’ve never been able to say that before, but I think that it’s time for me to just pump the brakes, and figure out what’s next. Take the time to just have a summer. To go to the beach, learn to cook a new meal, and hang out with the dogs. So that’s kind of my agenda, but every time I say I have time off. Something happens.”

“I’m Going To Disappear”

This isn’t the first time that Ballerini has mentioned the desire for some downtime. During her performance at Spotify House, which took place during CMA Fest 2025 that ran from June 5 through June 8, she told the crowd, “This is also my and our last show for a minute… I’m going to disappear for a while!”

Will Kelsea Ballerini Return To The Voice?

But that’s not to say that Ballerini hasn’t enjoyed her time swiveling around in one of the iconic red chairs on The Voice. In fact, the “Cowboys Cry Too” singer, who also recently made her acting debut on Dr. Odyssey says the opportunity allowed her to step outside of her comfort zone. But would she return for another season?

“I never say never. I think that it’s all about timing,” she answered of the possibility of returning to The Voice. “And I think part of the reason that I loved the experience, is it was just the perfect time for me to go do that. And so, yeah, maybe down the road for sure.”

“I mean, it’s bittersweet,” she said of completing her recent slew of projects. “I think ending my first Arena tour, ending my first time being a coach on The Voice, it’s just been such a beautiful season of doing things out of my comfort zone and bigger than I’ve ever done. And it’s been fulfilling in a lot of ways. I love being in that seat.”

News Comes After Success Of First-Ever Arena Tour

Ballerini’s North American arena tour, dubbed The Patterns 2025 Tour, took her through 30 cities, making stops in major venues like the United Center in Chicago, Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, and Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ambitious trek, which featured openers MaRynn Taylor and Maisie Peters, launched on January 21, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and concluded on March 30 in Denver, Colorado.

“Tomorrow starts our very first arena tour, and I can’t shy away from the absolute pinch-me, teary-eyed nature I’m feeling going into it,” Ballerini captioned a post on social media at the launch of the trek. “So, so many incredible people have spent these last months pouring their ideas, hours, and magic into this show in hopes we honor the journey that has brought us here and honor those of you who are so kindly showing up for it. Here’s to 36 sing-alongs, rooms that feel safe and celebrate being human, and glitter, dammit. I’m giddy. I’m nervous. I have a weird amount of bruises on my legs from forgetting where the stage stairs are, and mostly, I’ve been waiting on this since I was 13 years old. See you tomorrow? 🥹😭🤍”

As for The Voice, Ballerini debuted as a coach during season 27. Her artist, Jaelen Johnston, finished the season as the runner-up, losing out to winner Adam David of team Michael Bublé. Ballerini isn’t the only judge departing the popular sing-off show for season 28.  She, along with John Legend and Adam Levine, will not return for the new installment. Instead, viewers will see a return from Bublé, who will be joined by Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, and Snoop Dogg.

Plans To Spend Quality Time With Boyfriend Chase Stokes

Aside from learning new recipes, spending time in the sand, and hanging out with her dog, it’s pretty much a given that Ballerini will also be soaking in more quality time with her boyfriend, Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes.

The pair — at the top of the year — set a goal to make each other hotter, funnier, and more ambitious. Ballerini joked that she and Stokes set their goal when they were “probably 42” margaritas deep. “I think that’s our couple goals for the year. It’s going well. Lots of laying in bed with red light masks on because I feel like that’s funny. It makes you hotter, I think,” Ballerini smiled. “And it’s ambitious to do. So that’s kind of three birds, one stone.”
