Kelsea Ballerini & LANY shared the music video for their brand new emotional duet, “I Quit Drinking.”

Co-written by Ballerini alongside LANY frontman Paul Klein and Nicolle Galyon, “I Quit Drinking” finds Ballerini and Klein detailing how a breakup led to a decision to become sober, as the taste of whiskey, champagne & other alcohol reminds them of their ex. The song also paints the picture of a couple who shared fun times drinking together but now without each other, those moments don’t mean much anymore.

On Monday, June 14, the superstars shared a cinematic music video directed by Blythe Thomas for the infectious new song, which finds the two singers singing together in the pouring rain, washing away the hangover of a past relationship and the memories of an ex, in a visual that’s reminiscent of the rain scene from drama film, The Notebook.

“I’ve been a fan of LANY for a long time,” Ballerini previously shared of the collaboration. “It was really amazing to work together on ‘I Quit Drinking.’ We’ve all got Tennessee in common, and we found this sweet spot between rock, pop, and country for the song. It’s a little different for the both of us.”

Additionally, the superstar pair first debuted the new song with a live performance during the 2021 CMT Music Awards. The pair performed the song on a rooftop in downtown Nashville, overlooking The Ryman auditorium.

Ballerini is set to hit the road later this year on the Remember This Tour with popular boy band, Jonas Brothers. She recently shared the music video for her chart-climbing single “Half Of My Hometown,” which features country superstar Kenny Chesney.

LANY recently released their album, Mama’s Boy (Deluxe), which is available now everywhere.
