Kelly Clarkson recently shared a sneak peek of the latest season of her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
In a 30-second video shared on the show’s official Facebook page, Clarkson can be seen sitting down with legendary country singer Garth Brooks for some “Songs and Stories” ahead of the season four premiere, which airs on Sept. 12.
In the clip, Clarkson listens to Brooks recall stories from throughout his life and about when he was a bouncer and more.
In a longer sneak preview, Brooks tells Clarkson how he knew wife Trisha Yearwood was the one for him. Brooks recounts the time he took Yearwood to a baseball game and describes her as a “sports stud” and “a guy that’s got all the great girl stuff,” which generates a laugh from Clarkson.
A third preview finds Brooks describing his latest tour and what it was like having his tour shut down by the COVID-19 pandemic twice. The segment also finds Clarkson trying to get Brooks to sing for fans in the audience.
“If the spirit moves you, then, fine,” Clarkson jokes after a crew member walks out onto the stage and hands Brooks a guitar.
Besides Brooks, Clarkson’s season four premiere week features a star-studded line-up of special guests including news anchor Lester Holt, actor and comedian Kenan Thompson, actor and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda, chef Alex Guarnaschelli, and more.
Clarkson’s popular segment, Kellyoke will also return on this season of her daytime Emmy award-winning show.
While Clarkson has not yet revealed her plans for Kellyoke this season, she did share a behind-the-scenes look at a video shoot for a four-song medley that will air as part of the segment during the premiere episode. The video features Clarkson wearing a black dress in an outdoor setting where she is joined by both her band and dancers.
Clarkson took a break from her talk show this past summer to spend more time with her children, daughter River Rose, 8, and son Remington Alexander, 6. Clarkson, who had not previously taken a break from work since she was 16 years old, said it was important to spend some extra time with her children now that she’s divorced, and her kids have “crazy schedules.”
The season four premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show was taped in New York City.
