Kane Brown is expected to be joining Blake Shelton as a Battle Advisor on the upcoming season of The Voice.
The “God’s Country” singer shared the news by teasing fans with clues on his Instagram story on Saturday (Oct. 3) evening.
“Hey y’all, it’s Blake Shelton here and here’s what I’m gonna do, I’m gonna give you two clues and you’re gonna try to figure out who my battle advisor is this season, you ready?” Shelton said in the first video clip.
In the first clue, Shelton listed out four artists who his Advisor collaborated with, however only three of the answers are correct and one is wrong. The country superstar asked fans to choose the wrong one, in the list were John Legend, Ava Max, Lauren Alaina and Maren Morris.
“Here we go, here’s clue No. 1, the list below are all the artists that my Advisor has collaborated with, except for one. Can you guess which one of these is the wrong one,” Shelton asked.
Brown has previously collaborated with Legend on his song “Last Time I Say Sorry,” Ava Max with “On Me,” Lauren Alaina on “What Ifs” but he has never collaborated with Morris. When choosing the answer you think is wrong, the multiple choice question box highlights the correct answer in green, which was Maren Morris as she and Brown has never collaborated.
For clue No. 2, Shelton let his Advisor sing a cover of Uncle Kracker‘s “Follow Me,” which the mystery person sang the lyrics: “Follow me and everything is alright, I’ll be the one to tuck you in at night and if you.”
“Here’s clue No. 2 for your guys, my advisor is gonna sing a little something for you,” Shelton said.
Singing the cover further confirms Brown as his Battle Advisor as his voice is very distinguishable and was immediately recognized by fans.
“That’s pretty” Shelton replied following his brief singing clip.
Although, neither Shelton or Brown has officially confirmed the news, the clues and Brown’s distinguishable voice give it away. It is expected to be officially announced on Monday, October 5 via Shelton’s Instagram.
Season 19 of The Voice premieres Monday, October 19 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
