Chris Stapleton has one of the most powerful voices in country music. So much so that he has won the CMA Award for Male Vocalist of the Year a whopping eight times in a row, nabbing the highly sought-after accolade every year from 2018-2025. So it comes as no surprise that when someone receives a high remark such as having similar vocals to the“White Horse” singer, it’s a major compliment.
And Kameron Marlowe knows that to be true.
Kameron Marlowe Reacts To Chris Stapleton Comparisons
The “Giving You Up” singer has often drawn comparisons to the likes of Stapleton, with both artists sharing traces of blues, soul, and country with a hint of rasp in their vocals. Despite the striking similarities in their respective sound, Marlowe’s reaction to the news remains modest, as he says the Kentucky native’s talent and vocal technique is untouchable.
“I don’t think anybody can touch Stapleton, so I appreciate them saying that,” Marlowe said, reacting to the flattering comments during an interview with Music Mayhem. “I don’t think I’m even in the same ballpark as Stapleton, but I appreciate them liking my voice [and] I will say that.”
Although Marlowe seems a bit surprised at the discovery that his vocals resemble Stapleton’s, he is no stranger to covering the powerhouse singer’s songs. Previously, he has delivered renditions of tunes like “Far Away,” “Starting Over,” and “Whiskey & You.”
Channels Teddy Swims And Often Covers “Lose Control”
Stapleton isn’t the only soaring vocalist that Marlowe has covered, either. He has recently been seen channeling Teddy Swims’ award-winning smash “Lose Control” during stops on his Keepin’ The Lights On World Tour.
A video featuring part of that performance has been shared on TikTok, earning countless views and comments.
Teddy Swims Reaction To Kameron Marlowe’s Cover Of “Lose Control”
And in an eventful twist, Marlowe shares that Swims has praised him for his stunning rendition of “Lose Control.”
“He reached out to me to tell me that he had thoroughly enjoyed it, and he was appreciative that I was playing it,” Marlowe said of Swims. “And I kind of sent him a message back telling him that I thought he had written a masterpiece of a song.”
“So yeah, I’ve been in contact with him, and I’m appreciative that he enjoys the song,” he added.
Marlowe and Swims’ mutual respect for one another makes one wonder, would the two ever collaborate on a song together? According to Marlowe, the answer is, maybe!
”I think it would be pretty awesome,” he shares. “So hopefully one of these days we’ll get in the writing room together.”
Recently Dropped Sad Songs For The Soul
In the meantime, Marlowe is currently enjoying the completion of his current album, Sad Songs For The Soul, which dropped in February. Produced by Ben West, the concept collection, which showcases a new side of Marlowe, features 10 tracks that dive into all of the phases and emotions of heartbreak.
Some highlights on Sad Songs For The Soul include “How’s The Leaving Going,” written with Vince Gill and Lee Thomas Miller, “Highway Song,” and a cover of Cam’s emotionally charged 2015 hit, “Burning House.”

Marlowe is currently on the road, serving as an opening act for Parker McCollum’s 2025 What Kinda Man Tour. Laci Kaye Booth and William Beckmann are also special guests for the trek. Marlowe is also playing shows as part of his extended Keepin’ The Lights On World Tour, which currently goes through May 15.
