The Jonas Brothers are taking the naming strategy they used for their latest album (The Album) and tour (The Tour) and applying it to their new pop-up channel on SiriusXM, officially launching The Channel on Tuesday, August 1. Fans can listen exclusively on SiriusXM channel 105 and via the SXM app for a limited time.
The Channel will feature music from the Jonas Brothers’ entire catalog including songs from The Album. The exclusive channel will feature personal stories and insights behind the music from band members Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas as well as hand-picked music that brothers love by artists like Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, Fleetwood Mac, Daft Punk, Olivia Rodrigo, Prince, Billy Joel and more.
The Channel will be available to SiriusXM subscribers in their cars on SiriusXM channel 105 through August 14 and on the SXM App through August 28.
“The questions we asked ourselves when building The Channel were, ‘How do we outperform Pitbull’s channel?’” Nick joked in a YouTube video of the brothers announcing the news. “We had to come in and figure out how to take him down.”
He added that “the thing we’re most excited for with our channel launch is the opportunity to share our stories, talk about the journey that led us to this point in our lives and career and also share the music that influenced us and built our sound. A lot of things that our dad raised us on, even some current artists that we love today. A pretty wide range, but I think that’s the beauty of being able to create your own channel, is you can kind of break the rules and do whatever feels right.”
Jonas Brothers’ The Tour
Ahead of their new adventure on the radio waves, the Jonas Brothers added 50 new dates to their upcoming The Tour last week that will extend the group’s run, previously announced through October 2023, into 2024.
A number of the new dates are overseas and will mark the Jonas Brothers’ first time playing shows in Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, Hamburg, Lyon, Munich and Norway. There are also 27 new North American dates including five shows in Canada. The North American leg of the tour is focused on arenas with a few major stadium dates including Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Wrigley Field in Chicago and Yankee Stadium in New York City.
After closing out their North American run on December 9 in Brooklyn, the group will get a few months off before heading to New Zealand and Australia in February and March, traveling Europe from May through June with a conclusion in Belfast on June 20.
The Tour will begin on August 12 with the first of two sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium. The tour’s premise is that the Jonas Brothers will share music from all five of their albums every night, echoing their recent run in a Broadway theater, where they focused on a specific album during each show.
The Jonas Brothers have released six studio albums spanning over 15 years, starting with their 2006 debut It’s About Time, followed by 2007’s Jonas Brothers, 2008’s A Little Bit Longer, 2009’s Lines, Vines and Trying Times, 2019’s Happiness Begins and The Album, which arrived in May and contains the extremely catchy single “Waffle House.”
