Jimmie Allen’s 5-week-old daughter, Zara James, was rushed to the hospital Tuesday (Nov. 24) after she “stopped breathing.”
The country superstar and GRAMMY nominee shared the upsetting news via Twitter late Tuesday evening, expressing his anger of “lazy doctors at a hospital in TN,” who sent his daughter home knowing that she was having trouble breathing.
“Attention Doctors, if the parent of your one-month-old patient tells you the child having a hard time breathing and the only thing your lazy self wants to do is check heart and temperature find another career,” Allen tweeted. “Your job is to save lives so do it.”
“Now thanks to the lazy doctors at a hospital in TN that just sent our daughter home, our daughter Zara lost color stopped breathing and is being rushed to another hospital,” Allen added. “Thanks to the amazing EMT team that brought back Zara’s color she can breathe again. Gonna be a rough night.”

Earlier this week, Allen’s wife, Alexis, told fans via her Instagram stories that Zara James and their 1-year-old daughter, Naomi, were sick.
“Two sick babies,” Alexis said at the time. “One exhausted mama.”
Alexis kept fans updated via social media on the status of their children, documenting the difficulties she has trying to get her two daughters medical attention on Monday (Nov. 22).
“Turned away by hospital yesterday AM Ambulance at 2AM,” she wrote. “Basically, if your child isn’t blue at the lips, they will not have answers for you. That’s been my last 24 hours.”
“Not one doctor has taken the time to actually listen and make sure she’s really okay – 10 min in and outs [sic]. What this nurse mama is seeing/hearing is so frightening,” Alexis, who is a Registered Nurse, added.
Hours after her initial posts, Alexis thanked followers for their prayers, “Thank you everyone for the kind words and for thinking of us during this time. Hopefully, I’ll have more answers today 🖤”
The couple welcomed Zara James to the world on October 16, 2021, marking their second child together. Allen and his wife also have 1-year-old daughter Naomi, and Allen’s 7-year-old son, Aadyn, from a previous relationship.
Jimmie and Alexis officially tied the knot in late May 2021 during an intimate ceremony in Allen’s home state of Delaware. Their wedding ceremony was a star-studded affair with special guests including Chuck Wicks and his wife, Kasi, Darius Rucker, and Tyler Rich and his wife, Sabina.
Months later, Jimmie and Alexis revealed that they secretly wed the year before on the singer/songwriter’s birthday: June 18, 2020.
“We haven’t officially announced this, but we’ve actually been married for a year,” Alexis explained. “We got married on his birthday — June 18 — last year. Actually publicly being Mr. and Mrs. has been really exciting! I thought it was going to be the same, but I feel like it’s a new honeymoon stage for us. We get to wear our rings out in public.”
