“This Tour Is So Big, It Scares Me”
Prior to announcing the massive trek, Jelly Roll took to social media to admit that he was very “nervous” to release the tour dates, as it is his biggest outing to date.
“This tour is so big, it scares me a little to release the dates ….. I’ve never been nervous before a tour announcement before. But this one is THE ONE!” he wrote.
Other Tour Dates: Festivals And Touring With Morgan Wallen
The massive outing follows Jelly Roll’s completely 40+ date sold-out, headlining Backroad Baptism Tour, which took place throughout his milestone year in 2023.
Jelly Roll will also deliver headlining performances at a slew of festivals this spring and summer, including RODEOHOUSTON, Country Thunder Arizona, Stagecoach, Tailgate N’ Tallboys Iowa, Country Jam, Nebraskaland Days, Welcome To Rockville, Faster Horses Festival, Rock The South 2024, Rock Fest and more.
He will also join Morgan Wallen on select dates of his One Night At A Time World Tour in July and August.
In Support Of His Latest Album, WHITSITT CHAPEL
The trek comes in support of the 2024 People’s Choice Male Country Artist Of The Year winner’s seventh studio album, WHITSITT CHAPEL. WHITSITT CHAPEL, named after the church the Antioch native grew up attending, features 13 tracks, including his chart-topping hits “NEED A FAVOR” and “Save Me,” as well as his current single “Halfway To Hell,” and more.
“This album is about growth and gratitude happening in my life. I wanted to create a project that felt hopeful. I believe the worst feeling a person can have is feeling hopeless or worthless. This is therapeutic music. Real music for real people with real problems,” Jelly Roll previously shared in a statement. The project debuted at No.2 on the Billboard Country Album Chart and in the Top 3 on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart with 90,000 album equivalents.
Lots Of New Music Coming In 2024
In addition to hitting the road extensively this year, the genre-bending star plans to release lots of new music in 2024. While chatting with The New York Times‘ Popcast, Jelly Roll revealed that he plans to release music in 2024 “like a hip-hop guy,” which is at a more rapid pace.
“This was my philosophy coming into the music game because of all the inspirations I had. I wanted to put music out like a hip hop guy, and I’ll do that in ‘24. I’ll put out a lot of music,” the hitmaker, whose real name is Jason DeFord, shared. Jelly Roll explained that he didn’t lean into that philosophy in 2023 because he “wanted to focus on a piece of art that meant something.” That piece of art was Whitsitt Chapel, a project that earned him several chart-topping hits and award nominations.
“I want to release music like a hip hop artist,” Jelly Roll continued of his musical philosophy. “I want to write songs like a country music songwriter. Nobody writes more songs than a dude in town that’s just getting paid to write. You know what I mean? And I want to tour like a rock and roll act.”
The new music will include songs influenced by his wife, Bunnie XO, as well as tunes inspired by his life and what he sees going on around him.
