Jelly Roll was named the Male Country Artist Of The Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards (PCAs) on Sunday evening (Feb. 18). The award-winning country star wasn’t on hand to accept the honor, however, he did send a special video message to the People’s Choice Awards to share with viewers.

Jelly Roll Shares Special Message For Fans After Winning Male Country Artist Of The Year

In the video, the “Halfway To Hell” singer is all smiles as he graciously thanks his loyal fans, known as the Bad Apple Creek Squad, for always supporting him throughout his successful career.

“Male Of The Year… It’s absolutely incredible,” Jelly Roll said in the clip. “Thank you to the fans who voted, thank you for putting it all over the internet, thank you for putting it all over your social media, your TikTok. Y’all sharing it for us. That’s what y’all have done every single time for me, my entire career.”

He concluded, “You’ve never let me down, and I pray I keep making the kind of music that never lets you down. Thank y’all.”

Who Else Was Nominated For Male Country Artist Of The Year At People’s Choice Awards?

Cody Johnson, Kane Brown, Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Zach Bryan, HARDY, and Morgan Wallen were also nominated for Male Country Artist Of The Year at the coveted awards show ceremony.

Meanwhile, Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” duet partner and longtime friend Lainey Wilson took home the Female Country Artist Of The Year trophy.

The Country Male Artist of The Year and Country Female Artist Of The Year categories made their debut during this year’s People’s Choice Awards. It’s the first time that the PCAs included these categories, which is as a result of the success of the first-ever People’s Choice Country Awards, an event that took place in Nashville last year and amassed millions of viewers.

Jelly Roll Dominated The Inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards In 2023

In fact, at the inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards, Jelly Roll took home four award wins, including The Male Artist of 2023.

Jelly Roll was also not in attendance at that show because he was on tour in Cincinnati, Ohio, so the People’s Choice Country Awards brought the show to him, with Elle King delivering the news directly to the genre-bending star on stage at the Riverbend Music Center.

“I’m very excited to tell you that you just won the Male Artist of 2023 at the People’s Choice Country Award,” King, who opened up for Jelly Roll, said from the stage.

The Antioch, Tennessee native appeared to be shocked upon hearing the news. “I thought when I was here that I didn’t have a chance to win it, but the losers won again, baby,” he shouted from the stage at the time.

He continued, “This speech has absolutely nothing to do with me, and it has everything to do with y’all. This was fan-voted. This is for the fans. It’s always for the fans first, baby. The underdogs are back on top, baby. And I want to say thank you to the People’s Choice Country Awards for giving an opportunity for me and these 20,000 degenerates to celebrate this together. Right now, live on national television from Cincinnati, OH.”

In addition to The Male Artist of 2023 award, Jelly Roll also took home awards for New Artist of 2023, Song of 2023, and Collaboration Song of 2023 that evening.

At the People’s Choice Country Awards, Jelly Roll also performed his now chart-topping hit, “Save Me.”
