Jelly Roll and Morgan Wallen have always spoken highly of each other, sharing words of praise for one another in interviews and throughout their respective careers. So when it comes down to the possibility of whether or not the two of them would ever collaborate, fans can rest assured it’ll happen at some point in the future – at least, that according to the “NEED A FAVOR” singer himself.

A Collab Is “Inevitable”

In a recent interview with Holler Country’s Baylen Leonard, Jelly Roll shared that a duet with Morgan Wallen is “inevitable.”

“I think the thing about Morgan is it’s a dream collab for me, but I don’t think of it that way because I think it’s inevitable,” the Antioch, Tenn., native, 38, said indicating that a joint track with the East Tennessean, 30, will come in due time.

Hinted At Writing Music Together

Furthermore, Jelly Roll hinted that he and Wallen have gotten so close that they’ve already begun the process of writing music together.

“Our friendship is just going to inevitably end up… [with us] making more songs together and writing together,” he said.

While other artists are likely clamoring to work with Wallen, a collaboration between the “Last Night” hitmaker and Jelly Roll isn’t all that surprising as the two entertainers tend to combine their love of rock, hip hop, and country into their songs. On top of that, Jelly Roll has previously shared credits with Wallen’s good buddy and Big Loud label mate ERNEST, who, with David Ray Stevens, helped him co-write his first-ever No. 1 at country radio, “Son Of A Sinner.”

Jelly Roll Was Introduced To morgan Wallen By ERNEST

Had it not been for ERNEST, Jelly Roll and Wallen may have never met, to begin with. While previously co-hosting Country Countdown USA, Wallen confirmed that he was first introduced to Jelly Roll through ERNEST.

“I know him through ERNEST. I think ERNEST has known him a good while,” Wallen said while speaking to host Lon Helton. “…Jelly’s always in a good mood and wants to make sure everyone has a great time. He’s always really respectful…. I see how other people treat other people who may not have as much stature as me or as much success as me, and I see him treat them the same. That’s what I look for when it comes to a man. I’m glad to see him having the success he’s having, and he’s super talented on top of being that. It’s good to see good people winning.”

In a previous conversation with Music Mayhem, Jelly Roll also talked up Wallen, calling him “a real guy in a town full of fakes.”

“That’s the truth. There are a lot of fake smiles in country music, and Morgan Wallen is the real fu****g deal,” he said. “….“I told somebody the other day privately, but I’ll say it publicly, that Morgan has helped me more than you would think just by the advice he’s given me privately, the way he speaks about me in rooms privately, and the way he spoke about me publicly. He has been [a good friend to me]. I tell you what, it doesn’t hurt when the biggest artist in the genre has your back.”

Jelly Roll And Wallen Are Set To Co-Headline Gulf Coast Jam

And while fans await a collaboration between Jelly Roll and Wallen, they can look for the two to hit the stage in 2024 as co-headliners for the upcoming 12th annual Gulf Coast Jam. The four-day music festival, presented by Jim Beam, takes place in Panama City Beach, FL, and will run from Thursday, (May 30) – Sunday, (June 2).
