Jelly Roll made his national television debut on Wednesday evening with a performance of his chart-climbing single, “Son Of A Sinner,” on ABC”s Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The genre-bending star took the stage alongside his band to deliver a goosebumps-inducing performance of the track while backed by dim lights and subtle fog.

Jelly Roll previously shared his excitement over the opportunity to perform on the popular late-night show.

“I can’t believe the kid from Antioch is going to sing on national TV. This is absolutely unbelievable,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Son Of A Sinner,” which is currently in the Top 30 at country radio, details Jelly Roll’s previous struggles with addiction.

“These backroads got me / These pills pretend to be my friend / I’m done for the last time / I’m lying to myself again / I always say that / Now I’m on my way back here somehow / I should know by now,” he sings on the second verse.

Later, on the chorus, he adds, “I’m just a long haired son of a sinner / Searching for new ways I can get gone / I’m a pedal to the highway if you ever wonder why we write these songs / ‘Cause I’m only one drink away from the devil / I’m only one call away from home / Yeah, I’m somewhere in the middle / I guess I’m just a little / Right and wrong…”

“Son Of A Sinner” follows the success of “Dead Man Walking,” Jelly Roll’s first-ever No.1 on rock radio.

Both tracks appear on his 2021 album, Ballads Of The Broken

The Tennessee native recently teamed up with Brantley Gilbert on the rowdy tune “Son Of The Dirty South.” The collaboration blends the artists’ country/rock/hip-hop influences and finds the pair sharing their love for the South and everything associated with it.

Brantley Gilbert and Jelly Roll will embark on the Son of The Dirty South Tour kicking off next Thursday, June 30 in Jacksonville, Florida. The trek includes five dates and will make stops in various cities through August 27.
