Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie XO‘s shocking divorce has left fans searching for answers, and court documents are beginning to reveal details of the couple’s split after nearly 10 years of marriage.

Everything We Know About Jelly Roll And Bunnie Xo’s Shocking Divorce

According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie XO, whose real name is Alisa Andrea DeFord (née Carter), after nearly a decade of marriage. The documents state that the “Save Me” singer filed to end his marriage to the host of The Dumb Blonde Podcast in Williamson County, Tennessee on May 18, 2026, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason their breakup.

The records also show the couple separated on May 9, just nine days before the filing, which was submitted by Jelly Roll’s attorney Rose Palermo, who previously represented Kristin Cavallari in her divorce from Jay Cutler.

Sources also confirmed to TMZ that the “divorce was mutual decision by the two and a private family matter.” TMZ also obtained a photo of a moving truck outside their Tennessee home on Monday (June 15) with several workers appearing to haul items out of the property.

It’s also worth noting that Jelly Roll appeared as a surprise performer at Nissan Stadium during the June 6 CMA Fest lineup, where he was seen without his wedding ring. According to PEOPLE, the country hitmaker hasn’t worn his wedding band in quite some time, including one of the couple’s last public appearances together at the 2026 GRAMMYs, where he took home his first three GRAMMY Awards.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO first met in 2015 at one of the Nashville native’s shows on Fremont Street in Las Vegas at The Country Saloon. At the time, Bunnie XO wasn’t familiar with Jelly Roll, who had not yet broken into the mainstream. Despite not knowing each other right off the bat, the two locked eyes and sparked a connection. “We hit it off. She said she fell in love with the saddest eyes in the room,” Jelly Roll previously shared.

The couple got engaged the following year and secretly got married on the same day. In August 2023, the couple returned to the Las Vegas chapel where they originally wed to renew their vows in an intimate ceremony held at the same venue where they first said “I do.” Over the years, Bunnie XO has also served as inspiration for several of Jelly Roll’s songs, including “Kill A Man,” “Comfort Zone,” “Thorns,” among others. Through the highs and lows of their journey, the pair have consistently supported one another both personally and professionally. Jelly Roll has two children, Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy, from previous relationships, with Bunnie XO embracing her role as stepmother.

When Did Jelly Roll File For Divorce From Bunnie XO?

Jelly Roll filed for divorce from his wife Bunnie XO after nearly 10 years of marriage at 12:49PM CST on May 18, 2026 at Williamson County Chancery Court, just a few miles outside of Nashville in Franklin, Tennessee.

When Did The Couple Actually Separate?

According to court documents, Jelly Roll said the couple had actually separated on May 9, just nine days before the filing.

Who Is The Lawyer Filing The “Complaint For Divorce”?

The divorce was submitted by Jelly Roll’s high-profile attorney, Rose Palermo, who previously represented Kristin Cavallari in her divorce from Jay Cutler and has also worked with Kelsea Ballerini, Conway Twitty, Wynonna Judd and more.

Although Bunnie XO has yet to respond to the divorce complaint filed by Jelly Roll, she has enlisted Nashville-based divorce lawyer Neil Campbell of Campbell Perky Johnson, PLLC as her representation.

What Is The Reason For Jelly Roll And Bunnie XO’s Divorce filing?

In the “Complaint For Divorce” document, the “Save Me” singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, cited “irreconcilable differences” and noted that he and his estranged wife “are unable to live together successfully as Husband and Wife.”

The document reads, “The Husband would respectfully show unto the Court that these parties are unable to live together successfully as Husband and Wife. Plaintiff charges that the parties have suffered irreconcilable differences as would entitle either of them to a divorce in the event they execute a Martial Dissolution Agreement that provides for an equitable division of the parties’ assets and apportions responsibility for payment of the parties’ debts…”

Jelly Roll also requested in the complaint that Bunnie XO not be required to file a formal response typically expected in a contested divorce, suggesting the couple may have already settled key terms of their split, including property division and debts. The couple are reportedly looking to file a Martial Dissolution Agreement instead of battling it out in chancery court to make streamline the separation process.

According to the complaint document, the 41-year-old Nashville native also stated that he and the New York Times best-selling author “accumulated certain real and personal property, and incurred certain marital debts.” Jelly Roll anticipates that the pair will “execute and enter into a Marital Dissolution Agreement that provides for the division of the parties’ marital assets and debts.” He also asked the court to approve any Marital Dissolution Agreement “entered into by the parties upon the expiration of the statutory waiting period.”
