As country music lovers are aware, Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO are arguably the biggest power couple in the music industry as of late, leaving fans with dozens of questions regarding their relationship, from how they met, to whether or not they are married, to whether or not they have children, and beyond. Contrary to popular belief, one of the most frequently asked questions actually does not involve their relationship whatsoever, but instead their individual names.

What are Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO‘s real names, and is that what they call one another? See below for the answer to this commonly asked question.

Jelly Roll’s Real Name Is Jason

While the country star is nicknamed after a classic dessert, Jelly Roll was born with the name Jason Bradley DeFord. According to the “Need A Favor” singer, his mother started calling him Jelly Roll at an extremely young age, ultimately transitioning into his stage name. He recently elaborated on his nickname while chatting with Bobby Bones on The Bobby Bones Show.

“My mother named me that whenever I was a little chubby kid,” the Antioch, Tennessee native explained. “I’ve been fat my whole life. I spent the next 30 years trying to grow into the name, I think I’ve done it. I obviously look the part… It just stuck.”

Not only did his mother call him Jelly Roll, but his buddy throughout high school — who was commonly referred to as One-Arm Clay — started calling him Jelly Roll as well, without even knowing that this was his nickname at home.

The country crooner continued, “One-Arm Clay was like, ‘We should call you Jelly Roll. I’m One Arm Clay, and you’ll be Jelly Roll.’ I was like, ‘My mama calls me Jelly Roll.’ Then, once the high school starts calling you something, that’s the kit and caboodle.”

Bunnie XO’s Real Name Is Alisa (Pronounced Alyssa)

Bunnie XO explained in a Facebook post that her real name is Alisa.

“My name is Alisa (pronounced Alyssa) & I have talked about it on multiple podcasts because y’all always ask. It’s not some big secret. Bunnie is just a nickname, I’d never legally change my name to Bunnie haha,” she shared.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO have nicknames for each other

With Jelly Roll’s real name being Jason and Bunnie XO’s real name being Alisa, the two lovebirds admitted in a TikTok video posted by the latter that they never address each other by their real names, creating their own nicknames for one another instead.

Behind the camera, Bunnie XO asks Jelly Roll if he ever calls her Alisa, followed by asking if she ever calls him Jason. The CMA Award winner responded with a swift no both times, to which Bunnie XO responded, “It’s weird, right?”

The caption of the video spilled the beans, with the wife of the country music star sharing the nicknames that they have for one another. “It’s Mama, Mamabear, Papabear, Daddy Roll, and J,” the caption reads.

There you have it, folks. Whether country music lovers choose to call him Jelly Roll, Jason, Papabear, Daddy Roll, or J, chances are the “Save Me” singer’s ears will perk up regardless…
