Jason Aldean and Jake Owen showed their support for Toby Keith on Instagram after the “Red Solo Cup” singer revealed he’s being treated for stomach cancer.

“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” Keith wrote. “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait,” he added.

Aldean responded, offering prayers for Keith.

“Damn bro. Hate [that] ur dealing with that, but if anybody can kick Cancer’s ass, it’s you. Prayin for ya big man,” Aldean said.

“Pulling for ya man!” Jake Owen responded, echoing Aldean’s sentiment. “You’re one of the toughest guys out there. You got this.”

Keith received an outpouring of support following the post in which he shared that he’d received the diagnosis last fall. Fellow artists, RaeLynn, Scott Stevens, Lance Carpenter, and Matt Rogers as well as CMT personality Cody Alan, the official ACMs Instagram account, and even fans all commented on Keith’s post, wishing him a speedy recovery.

Keith revealed his cancer diagnosis on Jun. 12. Keith’s diagnosis follows the 18th Annual Toby Keith and Friends Golf Classic he recently hosted for the OK Kids Korral, which is a cost-free home for families of children being treated at the Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center. This year’s event raised more than $1,380,000.

In light of Keith’s diagnosis, he canceled all of his upcoming tour dates, including his headlining spot on Rib Fest. As a result, all of the dates that were listed on Keith’s website have since been removed. In addition, Rib Fest is actively seeking an artist to take Keith’s spot and perform with Elle King on Friday (Jun. 17), according to CMT.

Following the revelation of his cancer diagnosis, Keith again took to Instagram to thank fans for their love and support.

“I have the best fans in the world,” the singer wrote.

Keith released his 19th studio album Peso In My Pocket in October 2021. The album marked his return to music, serving as a follow-up to his 2015 album, 35 mph Town.

The 10-track album was produced by Keith and Kenny Greenberg and includes his radio single, “Oklahoma Breakdown” as well as fan-favorite, Old School.”
