The fourth location of Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar has officially opened on the Las Vegas Strip, and Jason Aldean made sure to include a heartfelt tribute to the Route 91 victims and survivors within the new 22,500 square foot establishment.

Route 91 Tribute At Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar In Vegas

On October 1, 2017, Aldean was on stage at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, performing in front of thousands of fans at the country music festival. What started as a night of music and celebration quickly turned to horror when a gunman opened fire from a hotel room, killing 58 people and injuring over 800 others. It was the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history, and Aldean, who was performing at the time, witnessed the chaos firsthand.

The 30-foot tribute mural, located on the second floor of the newly opened venue in the hallway leading to the green room, features a heart-shaped “Vegas Strong” logo and an orange poker chip emblazoned with the Route 91 logo and the year 2017. In the center of the heart and poker chip is a plaque with a call to action, encouraging those “impacted by tragedy” to seek support through the Las Vegas Resiliency & Justice Center.

For Aldean, the tragedy had a profound impact, and when planning his new Las Vegas bar, he made it a priority to include a tribute honoring the victims and survivors of the tragic country music festival.

“Absolutely… that was the first thing out of my mouth when we started talking about doing a Vegas bar two years ago. I said, ‘well, if we’re going to do that, we got to have some Route 91 stuff in there,’” Aldean shared during an exclusive red carpet interview with Music Mayhem at the grand opening of Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar. “Just like, I mean, we can’t do that and not include that. That’s got to be a special part of it. And so that was a no-brainer. I mean, obviously we got a lot of Route 91 family here in town, and a lot of people that come and visit that are close by that come to Vegas to visit, and we want this to be a place that maybe they come in and see some other people that were there. They have some connection with them, new friendships.”

Jason Aldean also reflected on that terrible evening. “That was a tough night for a lot of people, but it’s been a lot of tough years for a lot of others.” The Georgia native continued, “That was really important for me to include, and now looking around, seeing all the Route 91 shirts and items, with everyone showing their support, means a lot,” referring to the hundreds of fans at his Vegas bar grand opening wearing handmade Route 91 shirts, pins, and hats to honor those who lost their lives.

“Route 91 Family Forever”

One of those fans, wearing a 58 empty barstools t-shirt, told Music Mayhem, “We were there every year [at Route 91 Harvest], that night was very crazy. Started off amazing and as well know it ended in tragedy. Jason was onstage at the time, and he put us all together in the days that follow, and now that he’s home here in Vegas we’re looking forward to the amazing things at his bar.”

Another fan added, “Jason, you are our Route 91 family forever.”

Aldean shares a deep connection to the city of Las Vegas and its community, particularly after the tragic events at Route 91 Harvest. Clark County Commissioner James Gibson reflected on this bond while presenting the country hitmaker with the Key to the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, December 5. Gibson also declared the day as “Jason Aldean Day” to celebrate the official opening of Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar.

“We have a relationship with Jason that is unique. We consider him one of our own,” Gibson stated at the event. “He spent and engaged in a personal movement of his own to make a difference after one October, and he did that. He lifted the spirits of not just an entire community, but an entire country as we grieved, and he helped us move through that time. We will always be indebted to you for that. You mean an awful lot to us.”

Brings “Nashville’s Kinda Party” To Las Vegas Strip

Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Bar in Las Vegas mirrors the design of its Nashville counterpart, but with added glitz and glamour to elevate the Nashville vibe and match the vibrant party energy of Sin City. The venue has very inviting Southern-inspired decor combines rustic charm with modern touches, featuring exposed stone, reclaimed wood, neon signs, and industrial accents.

“This being our fourth one, we’ve kind of worked some of the kinks out of the other ones where we felt like this is probably one of the coolest ones we got now at this point. And to be right here on the Las Vegas strip, I mean, you’re bringing country music and a country kind of atmosphere to the strip, which is unbelievable. And again, just blown away at how the city’s kind of embraced us and let us come in and be a part of it like that,” Aldean told Music Mayhem.

The menu boasts of Southern-inspired creations, comfort food and bold flavors, some of which are straight from the Aldean family cookbook. The drink menu features a curated selection of local and national draft beers alongside handcrafted cocktails named after some of Aldean’s biggest hits, such as “Night Train,” “Burnin’ It Down,” “Take A Little Ride,” “Tattoos On This Town,” “Whiskey’d Up,” “Girl Like You,” “Amarillo Sky” and more.
