ABC’s American Idol returned Monday evening (April 5) with an exciting second round of celebrity duets, featuring a number of superstar artists including Josh Groban, Tori Kelly, Jewel, Incubus’ Brandon Boyd and more.
Country hitmaker Jason Aldean was also on-hand to duet with top 24 contestant Hannah Everhart, who previously took the stage for a solo performance of Chris Stapleton’s “I Was Wrong.”
Ahead of her “She’s Country” duet with Aldean, the country superstar gushed over Everhart saying, “She’s a really soulful singer, I think the sky is the limit for her! She knows how to come and take over a room and it’s infectious.”
“Heck yeah, this is Jason Aldean I get to sing with him, This song is a rager and I want to blow the roof off,” Everhart said prior to the duet.

Following the duet with Aldean, the American Idol judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan praised Everhart’s infectious personality and star power.
“Okay, so Hannah, I think the solo moment there were a couple moments that didn’t bullseye but I appreciated that you took the risk,” Perry said. “Then with Jason you’re like a real country star so if you can keep taking that energy to the next level, it’s going to go far girl.”
“You know Hannah it’s just fun watching you grow, that’s the main thing because your personality is so infectious and once your talent catches up with this little star that you are,” Bryan gushed. “I mean it’s going to be so fun to watch.”
“Ditto, Ditto, and standing next to that powerhouse, you handled it but that enough to intimate you to death but you came out on that one,” Richie added.
The 17-year-old Mississippi native previously impressed the Idol judges with performances of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and Johnny Cash’s “Wayfaring Stranger” and more.
